Sending sound files with IVC to increase TE atmosphere
-
Hello Dee-Jay and LorikEolmin
you may simply play an MP3 using VLC. No need to be synced on MP
What is MP ?
I can play an mp3 with vlc, ok. But how can i transport to the ivc client? When you open your IVC client program, you have the list of the sound
devices you can use. If you connect through BMS, you can click “Force local control”,
“Connect” then enter a frequency XXXYYY and click change. You can tick
one the emit boxes for a continuous broadcast.I dont understand the last sentences. What is a emit box?
This was not your question, but you can control a media player in BMS directly,
which is old WinAmp. You have a line to change in falcon bms.cfg (the one with the
WinAmp comment beside) and you can use your DED (LIST 0 0) to control it, or callbacks you configured.Thats possible, but how i can send it via UHF/VHF or Guard then? Still yet, i can only hear music
for me.Regards,

You absolutely don’t need to do this.
Just send the mp3 to all your players, then let them play it with VLC locally. -

The emit box is the little white square you click on. Like the one just down there, left to “Show your signature”, when you post something. That’s a box. Except it’s made to enable emitting. So I call it emit box.
Dee-Jay, I think he’s in a role-play trip, with sounds incoming without the other players having a way to influence it or foresee it. Surprise effect.

??? … it has no sens to me (unless I have misunderstood the purpose).
If the .mp3 (radio chatter) is
or whatever … it is completely untied/irrelevant for in game environment. It is just ambiance “background noise”. So what is the point to have it synced for all players sending it on guard (which would be unrealistic anyway) … so each player can simply play it locally on their computer behind BMS process.… if he REALLLLY wan’t to have it synced … well … okay. But I see zero interest to make it synced for all players.

You assumed it was real AWACS chatter, but OP never confirmed it.
EDIT: if it is just about playing that like music, then yes, it’s a big effort for a little reward.
EDIT2: let’s elaborate a bit more: OP would want to broadcast a “cancel your mission, new target is … coordinates… bullseye…”

On IVC, on package AWACS channel, simply say it on microphne.
I still don’t get the point.

Usually you can recognize someone’s voice, even with IVC radio FX, which degrades the expected RP experience.
2. a program/website transform it to speech (example: https://translate.google.de/m/translate?hl=de)
A quest for a better result. Actually the path to this result may happen to be more interesting than the result itself, as often.

Ok … so I definitively just don’t understand the goal (??!?)
Nevermind.

Hello Dee-Jay,
the person LorikEolmin are right. “Dee-Jay, I think he’s in a role-play trip,”
and this is correct to:
“Usually you can recognize someone’s voice, even with IVC radio FX, which degrades the expected RP experience.”I want to increase the atmosphere inside a TE. Some examples.
1./
There exists a JTAC team in the target area and gets under fire. Then they
requests an air strike on UHF x
2./ An airport is under attack and the tower asked for support
3./ A kidnapped machine will not give up
4./ A downed pilot must be rescued and gives the rescue team the coordinates.
5./…I do not want to play music.
There are so much possibilities to increase the atmossphere…
Regards

I don’t think the is the answer you are looking for, but DCS is a much better option for what you are trying to do.
BMS is focused on a dynamic situation.
DCS is focused on scripted missions, which is exactly what you are describing.
