Flashing Flight Path Marker?
-
I was on an AA mission recently, egressing at high altitude, and suddenly my FPM starts flashing and continues for several seconds. I don’t remember seeing this before. Does anyone know what it could be?
-
Yep, you have pressed the pickle.
On ground, try this: set MRM mode, switch master arm on SIM position, press and hold pickle.
-
Your missiles are out. Did you pickle?
-
Yeah, 0/0 on missiles. I might have also played with the SIM setting on the master arm.
-
Yeap. Aircraft trying to warn you that you are out of your currently selected missile.
-
I experienced the same thing, but I did not play with the MASTER ARM SIM at all, it was at ARM.
But as mentioned, I was out of missiles.
Is this flashing FPM thingy documented anywhere? -

Is this flashing FPM thingy documented anywhere? Its meant to flash to indicate weapons release. Should flash if you pickle, winchester or not.
**1.11.4.1 Flightpath Marker (FPM).**The flightpath marker consists of a 10 mr circle with 10 mr wings that are aircraft stabilized and a 5 mr tail extending from the
circle. The position of the flightpath marker on the HUD indicates the aircraft flightpath. In air-to-ground weapon delivery
modes, the flightpath marker flashes to indicate weapon release; the flashing continues until the weapon release (WPN REL)
pushbutton on the stick is released. When the marker is limited on the HUD field of view, an X-symbol is superimposed over it.
