Conflict RAT mice and Saitek X52.
-
Talk about a problem right under your nose and never seeing it, oh well.
There is a problem with the drivers for the R.A.T. mice made by MadCatz and the Saitek x 52 HOTAS. Specifically the root enumerator, both the devices require one yet they can only be coded in by the Saitek Software. Its a bit of a naff job having gear made by the same company actually conflicting with itself, however this may be down to the age of my HOTAS and may not be relevant in newer models post 2009.
The cure, go into the device manager and look for mice, open it up, the RAT is listed in there, right click on it and set it to uninstall the drivers. When the computer reboots it behaves like a normal 3 button mouse with a scroll wheel using the Microsoft driver.
Hope this helps you out if youve just had the same issues ive had over the last few weeks, just goes to show, when its right under your nose you tend to think "Nah it cant be that, well it is, sorry.
This issue may spread over both mice series and the Saitek HOTAS series as well. If you have similar issues then please let others know. One very easy way to find out is to open the profile creator and if the RAT mouse starts doing wierd things, then just uninstall it. Ive had mine installed for over a year and never gave it a second thought, till now.
