I read in a government document that CARA radar altimeter can show the altitude up to 50000ft, is that true? sounds incredible.
Where on the aircraft is it located? is it in the nose?

This LIPA product claims 35,000’ against 50,000’ competition (although other numbers are better, thus the sales brochure). Traditional 232’s document says 50kft and I’m sure it meets that handily (maybe some surfaces fail). LIPA’s accuracy claim to 5000’ 2’ or 2%; to 35000’ 50’ or 1%.
The antennas are located under the fuselage aft of the nose cone but forward of the intake.
