Windows10: Unable to get desired display resolution 1920x1080 in game 3D
-
Hi,
I’m returning to BMS after a pause and with a new graphics card and Windows 10 (x64) install.
I have reinstalled everything and am running BMS 4.33.5 (x64).
I am unable to get my native display resolution of 1920x1080 in game.
I have set the card and resolution i want in Setup/Graphics and it is saved between instances.
(The card is the only one to choose from)
But when entering 3D game, i have a wrong (lower) resolution.
I have tried deleting dx9display.dsp from \User\Config and reconfiguring but it didn’t help. What is strange is that in the resolution drop-down list, resolution seem sorted ascendingly, but the resolution i want is not at the bottom although it is the best one. I think when i enter 3D game, i get the 1440x900 which is bottom of the list. Just in case there was any relationship.
Screenshot attached. For information, the graphics cards is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
Any help appreciated.

That card have Nvidia control panel ???,Your best bet is to google your woes, the answer is out there, my last machines ran generic Nvidia cards and they were a pain, you wouldn’t believe what I’m running now , I got a 90p ThinkCentre with a dual core pushing 3.25 ghzs 8 gigs of ram and running vga that can’t be pushing more than 128 mbs the default resolution is 1920 x1080 , 4.33 runs with all options zeroed but not as flawlessly as 4.32 zeroed… Read all you can find out there about the matter and you should find a answer …

Any help appreciated.
LogicTry right clicking on your BMS short cut then properties->compatibility and tick Disable full-screen optimisations.
If not try turning game mode off in the Windows settings - also set the game to run as admin

Thank you! That fixed the issue for me.
Is this part of a FAQ i should have read somewhere? If not, should it be? -
The if using Win 10 FAQ……
1. Don’t think there is one
2. Most still wouldn’t see it

Well I have to same issue, trying to run in 1920x1080@60Hz but when I run the game I get 1024x768
I’ve disabled the full screen optimalisations in launcher and bin files, likewise for running as admin and windows 7 compatibility mode. Any other suggestions?

Same here. Nothing seems to work. BMS is broken for me.
-
Run it in windowed mode instead of full screen, that might solve your issues

Great! This is a progress. Thank You. But here another lame question. How I do borderless window?:E Alt+Enter does not work. Is there specific command line?

In the Launcher, select Cockpit Display Extraction. On the opening screen, select “Main”, and untick Borders.

Oh man, thank you - I’ve had no idea about this option. :llama:
These solutions should be sticked, to help rusty pilots -
There’s something up with one of the Win10 updates or something.
I’ve had zero issues running 5910x1080, until the last 2 weeks, now the best I can get is 1920x1080 on a single monitor. -
same here, used to run just fine but after a w10 update resolution was way too low. Running in windowed moded fixed that, thanks!

Thanks Migbuster, I had the same problems as logic did. I could not get the resolution at 1920x1080 in game. Your post helped me to resolve this problem.

Same if not similar issue. I could get the 1920 setting to show in setup, and when I entered the sim, but when I’d arrive in 3d in my jet it would have dropped to 1280 x ? 800. What I found was that if you have WIN 10 build 1809 or higher you are screwed. The only way I found was to use an older WIN 10 (build 1709) and buy a license from (MacroSelfish)
Additionally, do NOT allow any updates to it that are NOT security related.
This has something to do with a conflict with nVidia and WIN 10s versions of “Display Optimization”
With MSs’ new policies towards these kinds of conflicts I wouldn’t expect no help from MS.
g’'luck
