Help! For a mod for my own use (will not be disseminated), I need a copy of the MiG-23bn .lod (Hayab’s, I beleive) with the canopy glass changed from pType 17 to 25. For the life of me, I cannot figure-out how to isolate the front (3 piece) section of the canopy from the rest of the mesh to use the batch node processor to do it…

With Ctrl left mouse u can select area in the model and it displays the nodes.
Mark down the numbers, remember or take a note of them.

Then on the left from the node tree select the nodes. Use isolation to make sure u got the whole area u want.

Click on the root then blk select to select all the nodes (assuming there’s no other ptype 17 nodes), then go to the pull down menu in the right corner and select batch node processor. On the pop up window there is an area down with to boxes saying change ptype, upper box type 17 and lower box type 25 and then hit change on the Right upper corner. Go back to the model and remember to save the changes before exiting LE 😉

No joy, using batch node processor on the forward canopy area just turns the transparent nodes black, seems as if it has to due with it being all part of the mesh for the nose and fuselage unlike the moving part of the canopy where I can use bnp and just change all 17 to 25 and seems to work fine.

Okay, FINALLY got LE to isolate the area I want, now running into an issue where changing the pType from 25 to 17 on the windscreen does not create a proper transparency like it does on the canopy area: gives me a medium grey transparency. Any thoughts? Should I be using a different value?

What happens here is that the p25 poly’s are now using a texture. The poly’s now have texture coordinates (0’s). This means, in the texture used for the canopy glass, the (single) pixel color in the top left corner is used as the canopy glass color. In this case it’s probably grey.
You will need to make the texture section used for the canopy more transparent (photoshop work). Better would be to texture map the glass and move it to an empty place where you can add some color variations to the glass if you wanted to.

I’m afraid I don’t have that option open to me, do you have an email address?
