I use the CH Full keyfile provided by Kolbe. In another thread I thought I got this problem licked, but it came back big. Here’s what’s happening. My stick performs the pitches and rolls OK and my throttle accelerate/decelerates OK. But all the buttons are reversed, that is to say all the buttons on the stick perform the functions, in the exact sequence, that are supposed to be on the throttle. And all the buttons on the throttle perform the functions that are supposed to be on the stick. I have tried unplugged the stick/throttle, remapping through CH Control Manager, etc. Now I’m pulling my hair out. Anybody got a fix for this?

First time I hear that… have you tried using the ClrCalib.exe to clear the default Windows calibration settings after you disconnected the usb?
Also try checking your hotas without any profile loaded and if it works ok, build a basic profile by adding first the stick then the throttle and mapping some keys to it. Then download it to your hotas and check again.

I’m running Windows 8.1 and ClrCalib.exe is not there.

I also notice that when running BMS setup, the controller screen starts up with Device2. It’s supposed to be Device1, but I don’t know what’s causing it to be Device 2. Anybody got some idea?

I bet the device numbers associated with the two controllers have been swapped by windows. Someone mentioned a program (joyid… https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?20015-CH-Fighterstick-and-Throttle-problems&p=288807#post288807) that allows you change device numbers.

I searched and found this website: http://airgroup51.net/forum/index.php?topic=2435.0. When I downloaded JoyID from that site, my Norton Internet Security removed it as a virus. It was worth a try. This is really frustrating.

Sorry jc1, forgot that you started the thread i linked! 🙂

Possibly a false positive from norton? I found another download location but can’t confirm it’s validity: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13009

I went to the site you just recommended. Looks like it won’t work with W8.1. Here’s what it said:

Re: Joystick and HOTAS port mapping program - JoyID
Note: This tool has an effect only with games using the (old, deprecated) Win32_API for joysticks. Newer games (starting at least with IL-2 1946) probably use the DirectInput API which unfortunately ignores these IDs completely.

I got a thread going in CH - Hangar. Maybe somebody over there got some answers. Well, I’ll keep trying. My computer is a HP desktop, a new model, and HP support reps said that Microsoft is desperately working to fix W8.1. They even suggested that I go back to Windows 7. Thanks, Harelquin, for helping out here.
