Normally I’m pretty good at finding information like this but going through the manuals I can’t locate it, probably due to high use of DED and HUD strings in the manuals.

I have the DED on the HUD via WDP, however I saw a video at some point where the guy was able to turn it off/on via switch or HOTAS

      Anyone know?

      Thanks

use the hud panel to your right, above the lights console. There’s a switch there that says OFF/PFL/DED data

thank you, completely missed that switch…gotta contort my neck with trackir a bit.

I was thinking there was a HOTAS function too, kinda like holding DMS down to toggle the HMCS, but maybe I’m wrong about that.

Like just about every other switch or command in-game, you could make a command on the HOTAS to change the DED/PFL switch. However, in the RL F-16 there is no HOTAS switch for this. IMHO, unless you have plethora of excess HOTAS buttons just dying for something to do, this isn’t a very useful HOTAS function.

I’m one that sets everything up as realistic as possible, if it is not designed to be on the HOTAS in RL , I don’t map it. Only time I’d want to turn it off would be on landing to declutter the HUD so no big deal to flip the switch in cockpit.

IIRC on some jets the Uncage switch can declutter it on landing if NAV is the Master Mode.

Oh, well, we’ve got that covered. When you’re gear down, press the ‘Cage/Uncage’ button and it will declutter your HUD, including removing the DED/PFL data from the HUD. And that is a RL function.
