I just did an incremental upgrade from U2 to U5. Now my fuel tanks are empty when I start my saved cold ramp start TE. This wasn’t the case until I went from U2 to U5. Before the upgrades I always started with full tanks. I went back and checked the munitions settings in my TE setup and I can see that the fuel quantity slider is all the way to the right (15,000 lbs.). I even tried loading the TE TR433_11_LGB_Ramp and got empty tanks on start up with that one too. Any ideas?

Just checked U3, U4, and U5 changelogs and don’t see anything related to this issue.

I can tell for sure that the training mission does not start by default with empty tanks.
So something is happening at your side.
Do you use script in your te?
Is it instantaneous or depletes fuel fast from the moment you spawn?
Which f-16 is on your te? did you use mc?

My saved TE uses F-16CM-52’s. The fuel tank is empty as soon as the mission loads. I do hear my AI wingman’s engine start, so I know he has fuel. I did not use Mission Commander or scripts - just a very simple training TE. Very strange that it worked in U2 but not after the upgrade to U5.

You’re probably going to have to convert it with MC, or rebuild the TE.

Weird indeed. No te should be porked from .33.1 to .33.5. If that were the case all training te would have to be redone and I didn’t.

No idea. Maybe change the airplane with mc and test and then change again to b52. That usually resets wpns and fuel?

What is really weird is that you can’t save fuel state with 4.33. It always default to full at spawn. Regardless of the slider position…unless you use scripts or have a stuck dump fuel key

Sounds like somethings are fubared. Maybe a clean install is in order.

I just did an uninstall/install using the U1 setup app in the U1 setup folder. Is that considered a clean install process? Not sure if there are additional steps required for a truly clean install. I then recreated my ramp start TE and still get the exact same results - empty fuel tanks on the ramp. I’m just scratching my head over the fact that even the pre-installed Training TE #11 (LGB_Ramp) is doing the same thing - empty fuel tanks at the start of the TE. Isn’t that an indication it’s not a problem with my own saved TE? Again, this problem all started when I went from U2 to U5. Short of another idea, maybe I’ll reinstall to U2 only and see if the problem goes away.

                      Nope.

                      Uninstall.
Download the files again. In the past this was one major issue. Dont ask me but there where some bad download links. So use those in bms official announcements.
                      Install.

Okay, I did a complete uninstall and started over with new downloads using the recommended bitTorrents. I stopped at U2 this time, checked the ramp start training TE and still have the same problem, so it probably had nothing to do with my U2 to U5 update. I’m racking my brain to figure out what, if anything, I changed/updated on my system to trigger this.

You mentioned this was a “saved TE”.

Have you tried converting it with MC??

                          Something’s fishy here??

How about uploading the TE so it can be checked by others?

What if you start in the air?
What if you start a campaign flight cold?

You mentioned this was a “saved TE”.

if done with 4.33 or 4.33.1 it wouldn’t matter
If done with 4.32 it would simply crash on startup, so I doubt that’s the issue

I must say I can’t think of what could be the reason for this…

Does the Te has other aircraft in it and sorry to ask but are you affirmative you spawn into a F-16?

Problem solved and I apologize. I just realized that the fuel quantity indicator does not work off of the battery buss. The fuel indicator does not show fuel until main or standby generators are online. I fired off the EPU and could see that there was fuel onboard. So it turns out when I updated (and even reinstalled) I didn’t think to check the idle cutoff in configuration. That defaults to off and that was why my engine wouldn’t start when I advanced my throttle - not because I didn’t have fuel! Sorry again.
