Problem with campaign priorities
-
Hello folks,
When I start a campaign or change the priorities my squadron at Kimpo does not generate more missions. The base is managed by HQ but I change the Target type, Missions type and PAKS area (so these three are not managed by HQ) because I want to focus on SEAD/DEAD missions early on.
I can’t undersand how I can tell the sim to autogenerate more SEAD/DEAD without micromanging the flighs/packages.
Thank you

Hi Gattsu,
I assume the theater is KTO? What campaign are you flying?
And if you want to customize the frag order, easiest is to frag them yourself. To make sure you have the jets to do it you can make the squadron not to be run by HQ (human controlled).
It is possible that your squadron (default Sqn. in the campaign) is a specifically tasked squadron (A-A for instance). When you change the priorities the H.Q. does not frag you because the campaign priorities do not require your assistance.
PS: Are you specifically looking for a Wild Weasel role in BMS? Just asking

Yes I’m playing KTO, Tiger Spirit campaign, Kimpo Airbase (F16-B50). Squadron specialty is “General” (so not air-to-air focus).
Wild Weasel jaja I just want to play a campaign a bit more smart than the standard priorities focusing air defenses and aicraft at the start. So I set Aircraft and Air defense as hight priorty (like in the following images) but I don’t get new missions.
Thanks for your help

I would say that you can’t get the ATO to do anything more than what you have done so far. Those sliders are more for the entire forces than Squad specific. My advice: 1. Fly the CAPs for the first few hours of the campaign. Thinning the Wall of Migs. Take some A-G with you to take out TOOs 2. Frag your own SEAD/DEAD. You can be much more efficient at allocating your own resources.

My experience is that there is a delay before the ATO switches to new campaign priorities. Maybe this link will help make sure your starting off with the right settings to achieve your goals: Falcon 4 Campaign . A great read, but you probably only need the starting sections of DBond’s excellent post.

As Vapor alluded to, how much time has elapsed? It will take time for the first missions generated to be flown and return and then you’ll begin seeing the new priorities in effect.
Kimpo only has F-16s in Tiger Spirit, unless you use third party programs like Mission Commander.
Those sliders look just like ones I use

Yes DBond I’m trying to follow your guide, so these photos are yours (sorry if I didn’t say).
And thank you a lot for your efforts, I found BMS many years ago and it was too daunting but now there are many guides that help me a lot to learn it.I will try a new campaign from another airbase or Iron fortress and follow every step again. I really don’t know if I am doing something wrong.

No worries man, just having some fun. I’m happy to see it being used and useful.
Before you start over let me ask, when did you make the slider changes? At campaign start? And how far did you get (in campaign hours)?

I was selecting the wrong PAK zones for the Tiger Spirit campaign. I feel so stupid jaja
Thank you for your help. I will follow DBond guide and I hope that I have more luck than standard priorites. My air forces suffered greatly on the first days.
Cya,

Well, yes, I hadn’t considered you were using Rolling Fire paks in Tiger Spirit. At least your territory was well defended
Good luck with your campaign. It’s a five day campaign (ends on 6th morning).
Kimpo’s my favorite Blue base to operate from. Have fun.
