      Good day Community,

Im very glad to be part of the team now, I have flown on FF for quite a while and then I had to change jobs etc, but now im back and im looking forward to flying BMS.

My first issue occured when trying to enter " Setup" after launching the .exe file.

It seems to crash back to windows 10.

Anyone can recommend any help ?

did you import ANY files from previous install before launching ?

seems typical from a porked Logbook file or Keystrokes file

          No , it’s a clean installation.

I enter the main menu, click on “setup” within the main menu, then it crashes back to Windows, I tried flying on training it works , my only issue is I cannot enter setup,

have you changed the keyfile or use your own one ?

as mav said this normally occurs due to the keyfile

              Good day Ninja,

What do you mean by Keyfiles ? my installation is a fresh new one.

I checked the other threads it could be due to having two graphic cards in my laptop, i.e. Nvidia and Intel, so Ill have to switch off one of them in order for the application to run at its optimal

Please stop posting the same issue in several threads and sending PMs, it just gets confusing for anyone trying to understand what the issue is and what you’ve tried.

Please follow the advice in this thread if you want a more prompt response; don’t ignore it and then rant that nobody is helping you. In particular, a download link to a crashdump (zip it up with WinZip or 7zip first) might be very helpful to a developer trying to understand your issue. Remember, everyone is a volunteer and is giving up their free time, whether they be part of BMS or a member of the community.

The fact that nobody else is reporting this issue (to my knowledge) would seem to suggest it is caused by something on your laptop. If we can’t replicate the problem, all we can do is suggest things to try, as I’ve seen people suggest with graphics setup.

You might also want to look at this thread, where disabling Broadcom BlueTooth modules on Windows 10 laptops has been effective, just in case your laptop has one enabled, as you’ve already said it is running Windows 10.

I’ve also changed the thread name to something that actually relates to the issue, so that hopefully more people will read it.

Whilst BMS makes it clear in the BMS Manual that Windows 10 can not currently be recommended there are enough people now using it, many with laptops, that hopefully someone will be able to relate to your issue, while we await a link to your crash dump.

Oh wow, thats a very intricate/potent response.

                          Thank you Darkman.

Ill read what you read word by word, yeah sorry, im just feeling frustrated because I had to hussle my way to buy a laptop for this sim. And now its not working properly.
So as per your instruction I will do what you said and I will post my CTD log (although its written above / thats a crash dump correct ?).

                          Again thanks

You posted the file ending with crash.txt, which is the crashlog. This gives some general information, but is usually not enough.

The file ending with crash.dmp is what the developers will need to look at. It will be the large file (around 126,500 to 127,200 KB), so remember to zip it up in Winzip or 7zip before you upload it and provide a download link.

Just out of intreast can you try installing BMS to just c:\BMS for example

I seem to remember there was a problem with one of the betas that had issues with long path names I belive it was addressed but just in case i’m wrong

and confirm for me how many graphic chip’s your laptop has 1 if I recall from your crash.txt file but cant remember whilst writing this ?

                                  May I ask,

I have Falcon: AF by Lead persuit on the same hard desk, does it have any side effect on running Falcon BMS ?

In terms of my VC setup, I have both Intel and GTX Nvidia 960 on my laptop, hope it helps.

                                    Heya

Falcon AF wouldn’t matter as we use our own registry entry

the 2 VC has shown to be an issue IIRC disabling the Intel VC via bios has worked search in the forums as there is plenty of posts regarding this for example https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?25116-BMS-4-33-Windows-10-Main-windows-Setup-Menu

ok I wouldn’t post for help until you got your install running correctly first

for one the guys will try and help you out and you will probably come back saying that doesn’t work or something not that there info is wrong but rather your flying a different sim a lot is totally different to F:AF so don’t confuse yourself

do one thing at a time then run though the training missions would be my advice
