Nice pics. Those Panvia Tornado’s are damn scary looking. I hope we get to see an updated model in BMS soon.

          Jep. Same.

You like Tornados? Here some more, and MiGs, Typhoons, Suchois…

The MiG-29 will always be a sex symbol, though 2-seaters always are a bit lacking in that regard. That’s probably my biggest turn-off for Indian MiG-29K’s currently. Sure you can swap in or out an extra cockpit easily, but you’re also stuck with that big bubble, ALL THE TIME.

Funny enough the German airforce has only 8 operational eurofighters. The navy has only three flying helicopters.

Yeah, and I saw six of them flying at the same time! Just kidding… :mrgreen:Well, that sounds like german journalism. Spiegel Online postet that. But I think there is a difference between operational and full operational. These status depends on things like latest software versions and flying limitations. During the airshow (I saw six Typhoons flying) 4 up to 8 german Typhoons were operating in Lituania. Then we have additional 2 QRA-Elements (4 a/c each) located in Wittmund (northern Germany), Neuenburg (Bavaria) und the TLwG 31 (31st TFW) in Nörvenich with active Typhoons. I talked in Laage to Pilots/ground crews/GCI and they all told me, that nearly all german Eurofighters were in charge, but not on the latest update. But it´s in progress.

But the helicopter-thing is -sad- but true.

I don’t really know what to think of a fighter jet when you can’t have them in the air because the software isn’t up to date… since when did Microsoft make aircraft drivers anyway?

                    😛

Well, thats difficult. Maybe with an example: BMS 4.32 update 5 is running fine. But update 7 will make it better. The Typhoon is introduced in NATO in 2004. But not completly combat ready, because such complex system needs progress. Thats a fact for any new complex fighter aircraft.

@MrIch: 42 aircraft sounds better than eight… Thats only my opinion: I´m sure, the most Typhoons are dangerous… to others!

EDIT: Look at this -> http://theaviationist.com/2012/07/13/fia12-typhoon-raptor/

There was an article about some “serious structural problems”, this plane has ( posted over this forum). I am very interested in it - if it was solved. But I can not find that article anymore…i really suck with benchmarksims search function, sorry.

Yet, there is a lot of trouble in the german military with bad equipment and lack of spare parts and so on and I expect the military budgets to rise in the next few years. You can’t maintain a military force operating all over the world with basically nothing. Since the ukraine crisis, they woke up and noticed that they can’t keep up with the threats that arise.
The german defense ministry already stated that the military budget will rise in the next years to be able to fulfill germany’s role in the NATO.

Back to topic: They did not deburry some holes… I think you can’t do this by hand and so, once the fighter is assembled it is the way it is. Nothing that would affect airworthyness, but you have to look closer and more often there in case there are (even the smallest) cracks.
