      Hi Everyone, I wish to get some information abut display extractions and performance with BMS.

      Specifically I would like to know the following:

      • What V-Card are u using?
      • What is your FPS differences with/without displays extraction
      • What is the resolution of your main display(s)?
      • What tool are u using to extract the displays (default BMS, MFDE, other?)

      And las but not least, if you switched V-Card lately between Nvidia/ATI, can you shed some light on what were the performance difference between the cards in general and if possible specifically regarding the display extraction?

      Cheers! 🙂

        • What V-Card are u using?
          Main 27" monitor on MSI R7970 Lightning; extra 22" monitor on MSI Z87-G45 gaming motherboard onboard card

        • What is your FPS differences with/without displays extraction
          Don’t know without, always have it on, can’t do without anymore.
          Without vSync I have around 160 above clouds, no TGP.
          Bad weather low level heavy activity in the bubble, lots of models, TGP active can bring it back to 85-125-ish. But I always run with vSync on fixed at 60FPS.
          Everything is maxed out (except detail level which is on level 2 as higher only eats FPS without visual improvement).

        • What is the resolution of your main display(s)?
          1920x1080

        • What tool are u using to extract the displays (default BMS, MFDE, other?)
          All MFDE so I can run BMS fullscreen non-windowed.

        Current setup, see https://www.dropbox.com/s/7em21l9jiq3t975/current-setup.jpg
        Building on a pit (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x0rgrohzdpa02vt/AACucgQ76FqpG6swXb6-6qDpa) so planning on using at least 3 more 7" VGA displays and eventually also 2 extra 27" monitors for peripheral view.

          Nvidia GTX 580 OCed a bit with 3gb

          Ground: with 20 without 30 Air: with 30 without 50 (not very certain, it’s what I recall from memory, ± 5 to 10 fps from what I wrote)

          @I-Hawk:

          • What is the resolution of your main display(s)?

          4480x1200

          default BMS

          I use it for 3 tablets feed.

            On-Board OE Graphics

            No idea of change with/without

            1920 x 1280 (main); 1366 x768 (extracted displays)

            BMS included MFD extractor.

              I am not a FPS guy. I base my IQ in my own perception of flight. It must be smooth and fluid. I didn’t notice any bad effect with disp. extr.

              • What is the resolution of your main display(s)?

              1920x1200 + 1024 x 768

              Gigurra’sfor the MFDs & DED. Why: it’s the only one that will let you ALT TAB without losing sync with BMS, and run full screen. Tested MFDE and BMS extractor.
              The rest of gauges; MFDE

              And las but not least, if you switched V-Card lately between Nvidia/ATI, can you shed some light on what were the performance difference between the cards in general and if possible specifically regarding the display extraction?

              My last ATI was a 7970. After that switched to nVidia and I don’t think I will switch back to ATI again. Reasons, many:

              • for other simulators that I fly nVidia has better IQ (namely, Cliffs of Dover and FSX/Prepar 3d)
              • less noise (fans)

              Cheers! 🙂

                  GTX 680 (using latest driver)

                • What is your FPS differences with/without displays extraction
                  With extraction. 80 on ground, 100 in air. This can vary depending on theater. (I’ve turned some shaders off in configuration)
                  I’ve never run without extraction.

                  BMS for MFD’s and MFDE for gauges

                Always used nVidia

                  GTX 670 SLI with current drivers. Main resolution at 6610x1080 across 3 23 inch monitors. I’ve used BMS and MFDE extraction as well as MFDE only extraction in stand alone and server/client mode. Using BMS for extracting MFDs works flawlessly but it comes with a higher performance hit than any other MFD extraction method. MFDE in stand alone works, but I have found it is MUCH more stable when used in server/client mode. Running server/client also has the advantage that if the client bugs out and stops working you can reboot that without bothering BMS at all since it is running on a different computer.

                    Thanx guys for the info, I wanted to know if Nvidia has issues with extracting displays but apparently not. I just replaced my ATI R9 280X with a GTX-780, seems like performance are great with everything maxed and display extracted via default BMS extractor. Thanx! 🙂

I use MFDE extraction in server/client mode. FPS no different with or without MFDE.

                        GTX 670 FTW 2GB is my main card, but I extract on a external video card adapter, which doesn’t hurt my FPS. I use something like this http://www.iogear.com/product/GUC2020DW6/

                        @I-Hawk:

                        • What is your FPS differences with/without displays extraction

                        With extraction on I get 30-40 on the ground and 50+ in the air. Haven’t tested it without the extraction on

                        @I-Hawk:

                        • What is the resolution of your main display(s)?

                        Main monitor is a 40" LED Samsung and the monitor I extract to is a 26" westinghouse with a res of 1920x1200, but I use 1920x1080 because I mirror a 24" LG monitor with the 26" one.

                        • What tool are u using to extract the displays (default BMS, MFDE, other?)

                        I use both BMS default for MFD’s, DED and RWR and I use MFDE for a bunch of other gauges.
