F-16D BLOCK 52+ CFT Amount of Fuel Fix
-
Hello guys, personally i like the Viper D block 52, anyway, some time ago i downloaded from Janhas site the file: LVN2_D52+_CFT_HAF_v4
That .rar contains a better and detailed model of the Viper D block 52, there are two models, with CFT and non CFT, i installed the CFT model, inside there is a .dat file but doesn’t work in Falcon, i mean that the internal and CFT fuel is not correct, try it and you’ll see.
Well i did some work in database and the .dat file, the good is that you won’t edit the .dat file because i did it, you’ll download two archives for have the F-16D Block 52+ CFT with the internal correct fuel.
1. Go to Janhas site: Janhas.net and download the file mentioned up.
2. Search in google F4Browse and download it
and of course download my edited file:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mr2u17yca4ljxz6/AABmB23fKmY_7Md1jgFRnoKda?dl=0
RELAX I HAVE EDITED THE INTERNAL FUEL NO MORE.
Well open F4Browse and look for the database file, it is located in:
X:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\objects\falcon4.fedNOTE: “MAYBE” PASTING AND COPYING THE .DAT EDITED FILE IT WILL WORK FINE.
IF YOU WANT STILL EDIT IN THE DATABASE DON’T FORGET MAKE A BACKUP.Look for the F-16D Block 52 and double click.
Now in the screen edit fuel and replace with “8955”.
Select the first Viper and edit the Empty Weight and fuel:
Empty Weight: 21200
Fuel: 8955Update; update; close window…
You’re going for the right way, now install with LOD Editor the new Viper model, copy and paste my edited file.
Now you have a F-16D Block 52+ CFT with the correct internal and CFT fuel. -
You are giving part of a solution to a very well known problem that has been specially looked into at least from the Greek community since ages, as we where from the first couple of countries that had equiped the viper with CFTs, so it was essential to have the proper functionality. Bottom line, it requires more changes to other places too, to represent proper fuel to each tank etc, but at the end the outcome will be again wrong with wrong CGs, wrong FWD/AFT systems fuel counts etc. We have played with all current options with Jan, I have implemented all correct changes of his new models to my mod, but still it needs much more work in the code itself than simple .ini .dat and db value changes for these to work correctly in a future update. Don’t worry, the proper ppl know exactly what to do when time comes so fingers crossed to have CFTs implemented as separate external tanks.

Important note:
If you want make changes in Fuel Load capacity of a/c (including external tanks) while you can add fuel (take care about CG) do never reduce it … This is critical!
It could break the AI behavior, ATO flight generation and could leads into a lot of a/c looses in flight. -

what do you mean with CG?
Center of gravity. Important for the AFM. Look up correspondant article in the FM articles.

CG is in afm.dat?
i have not touched that -
yes, you have changed the amount of fuel it carries? fuel has weight…
-
When you change internal fuel you need to make sure it is disturbed correctly between the tanks (AL/FR) and that the tanks are positioned as in the real aircraft in the AFM, or it might make the aircraft unstable because too aft CG (susceptible to stalls). The fuel distribution in your dat is not according to -1 (old data issue from 4.32) and there is inaccuracy in the tanks positioning in the original AFM. Expect it to to fixed in next release for single and dual seaters with CFT.

It does? I would have never known this if it was not for your informative post Bluewolf. This world owes you big time.
