Campaign stall blue IRFORCES
-
Seems to happen Day 2 in all Korea campaigns at noon. My sorties dwindle to no aircraft up from 5 full operational airbase fighter wings. Simultaneously red sorties dramatically increase. I do manage ATO with barcaps full to right and some ACA and interdiction.
The previous 2 hours before noon there was minimal red air activity also. Not sure why this happens.

Did you adjust Pacs/Priorities ?
OK I see you did, you fubared it.
Your changes are too radical. If you want to manage the Blue air just take control of the Squads.
And never set a slider at max, is my experience. Its a big subject.

thanks for the response. I find it works well most of the time and just want to understand the best way to manage the ATO. Big subject indeed!

Just curious…How do you take control of the squads? by adding and managing packages yourself? Doesnt take that wayyy too much time?
-
Ah I suppose by using mission commander tool….time to learn…

Sure does take time. Does it matter how much?

Well, the time component doesn’t bother me too much. I enjoy making packages for missions and etc.
However, I think some features of user interface(correct terminology?) can be changed.
For example, when I try to make a flight, sometimes it says No aircraft available. I understand that bms takes turnover time into consideration, and I like that. However, wouldn’t it be useful if we knew the number of aircraft available at a specific time? Or would it be too hard to code for it? I am not a dev (very close to comp nub, in fact), so I am not sure how hard it is (maybe in 4.33?)
Another example would be, when I try to add a package, say an strike package with f-16s. So I would choose aircraft (say blk50), and then I would choose the role of mission (say Strike). And then I click Ok, but sometimes I get bad timing or no aircraft available. This is fine (as the latter has been addressed above). However, when I click OK or cancel at “no aircraft available”, the role bar is gone default to DCA. Couldn’t it just stay at strike? I know this is only a little thing, but when trying to make a large package, these little things add up and make it a bit tiring.
Is using MC a panacea for all these things? (and please don’t say things like “oh if you don’t wanna do these work then you don’t deserve to fly”, because 1) I’ll never stop flying the BMS ;), 2)I don’t mind doing all these work for a good mission. But as all passionate falconeers do, I always look for improvements).
These were just a few things I had in mind. I have more to ask but my time is limited as I must fight against this biochem test coming up….
Cheers,

No
Controlling squadron and creating packages are done in UI directly while camp running
No need mission commander
If you get an error message while creating a flight it means you are doing something wrong
Common mistake :squadron slots not available. Don’t try to by pass those error messages ( by using mc for instance ) you whish to screw your campaign big time (you will get more ac in air than available)

A little comment on why ground forces get stalled often is that friendly aircraft bomb bridges. Make sure infrastructure slider is turned way down.
-
bridges (Infrastructure) intact. I rely on using campaign ATO sliders though I do modify loadouts and waypoints. The stalling is am referring to is an approximate 2 hour cessation of ATO tasking air sorties though I have full aircraft available while simultaneously the reds then appear in large numbers. I think it may be the AI at work doing something.
