      Hey

I’ve been messing around with the game files. Figured pretty quickly how to make DB changes and such, but I still haven’t found a good way to make code changes to the game… The EXEs/DLLs etc would not be practical to reverse engineer and completely recreating them would seem time consuming. Is there a better way of making code changes?

      Thanks

There is no way for the user to make code changes.

Reverse-engineer exe or DLL is not allowed in the license agreement granted by BMS.

Spend a considerable amount of time providing and sharing with the community.
Prove that you are skillful and trust worthy and hardworking and with stamina by the passing of time and then you will be considered as an option to get in the team if such need exists.
So it’s up to you actually.

So what are you planning on contributing first? we all are exited to hear what you’ll work on.

Oh and since u use BMS u already declared that u will not reverse engineer anything regarding Falcon BMS. So not a very good start here I would say… but that’s ok as a newbs forgivable error…

            Ah Arty Arty Arty….
You ask me to spend here lots of time, put a lot of effort into contributing to this “community”. But in the way you write you present a community in which members who aren’t in the dev team are laughed at and given 0 respect…. So what reason is there for a “newb” to spend time and effort to contribute to this community which is so offensive towards him?

For some reason I have a feeling if you were me you wouldn’t spend a considerable amount of time providing and sharing with the community, prove that you are skillful and trust worthy and hardworking and with stamina.

You know, you could have just said that benchmark sims (I suppose) was given the code, and doesn’t use some other built in way to modify code functionality in contrary to what I thought….

              And where exactly is that?

M8 u got it all wrong and you should check again. The whole falcon and BMS progress is based on sharing and freely provide to the community by the community.

Just a simple search in this forum and on falcon history will open your eyes and mind and alter your perspective.

If u just want it all and with no cost just cause, well I have bad news for u, in falcon nothing is easy, specially in development and modding. If u are not with patience and stamina then it might not be for u.

Ori, do not take it personal, 90 percent of Dev team do not have access to codebase either! 🙂

Can’t agree more with you Arty, in other games making a 3d cockpit would be an easier task but with falcon it way harder bc of the model type and such.

Patience is key for modding bms, if you don’t have it you’ll end up frustrated and with your hands empty, more so, if you want to become a BMS Dev, hell, Even I want to become one, but i know I gotta do more than a cockpit to be one.

In other words, you can’t get to a college without going through high School first.
