      Hi,

      Does anyone know what extra you get for your money with a Saitek X52 Pro as opposed to an X52 non-pro. There is a difference in price but I can’t detect a difference in the specs (on Saitek’s site).

        @Saitek:

        …. The X52 Pro uses the same magnetic hall sensor, non-contact technology as the X52 but we’ve doubled the number of sensors to improve response…

        There are also some differences in the spring mechanism (X52 Pro has a ‘dual’ spring’) as well as some additional buttons/switches. However in a typical setup the extra buttons/switches don’t do any good as BMS doesn’t ‘see’ them.

          Many thanks for that. I did put the Saitek specs side by side but just got confused because they looked identical. I think I’ll save my dosh and buy the non-pro when my evo force finally dies. It loses axes from time to time. I am about to take the bottom off and look for loose contacts. That should ensure its demise . . .

            I should revise this I think. The ‘extra’ buttons are not seen by BMS as DX buttons (typically BMS ‘sees’ 32 DX buttons per controller). However, I think (pretty sure) they can be used in a ‘keyboard emulation’ profile, as in SST softwar, which comes with the X52/X52 Pro.

            FWIW, I’ve had both. First an X52 (used) and then a X52 Pro (new). Worth the extra few $ to me, but admittedly the differences seem relatively minor.

                  I stopped ***** around and put my money down. Got a deal at £122 all in (incl postage) from Elite Gaming. Just waiting for its arrival now. There were people paying £100 for second hand units on eBay? Seems a deal.
