Controller Setup Issues

You are right. CM doesn’t take much in the way of resources. For some reason BMS saved it finally and remembers it.
-
In CH Control Manager the map file must be opened and downloaded. If you don’t download it, BMS settings will not see CH and all your settings need to be done all over again.
I have mine downloaded on start up so I don’t have to worry about it.
Yes, the download is necessary <g>. I found the GUI did not have to be opened. BMS still sees them for me.</g>

Correct. Just put CMStart.exe in your startup folder and it will open automatically with Windows with the last profile you downloaded. Fire and forget. Always there to serve you.

Did that a long time ago <g>. Fires up the last map used and I’m ready to go.</g>

Is it working for you now or does it forget still?

As of a couple of hours ago it was still working.

Did you follow the start up procedure that we said?

Essentially I did.
Map was downloaded and I run cmstart.exe to activate the last map but that only applies when I login and all through this I’ve not logged out. During testing I downloaded before firing up BMS and still had failures.
When I start BMS I go into the Controller advanced and check. If it’s there I go fly.
Not sure what fixed it. After posting and getting the response about trying some more times (I’d already done 20 or so!) I set the values, repeated the save a few more times and it saved the settings. Exiting and reentering BMS the devices were remembered.
I also, just to be sure, followed OldGoat5’s post and changed the file permissions. My files are on the G drive so it’s not a protected location.
Now it remembers the settings. Not sure what fixed it. CM doesn’t make a difference if it’s running or not.

Glad it’s working for you and hope that it keeps working. I’d follow those procedures every time you are about to fly.

Thanks to all for the help.
So far so good. I’ll just keep checking the setup when I startup as it’s easier then getting into a mission and finding out the controls don’t work.
No to find some good guides on writing the missions. I notice the training missions can have scripts so I need to find out how to do that.
