Here’s what it looks like on the new ONC map for the theater. Seems to stand out much better now than the my previous map.
Contrasting colours make for easier to read maps - these are not greatly contrasting colours. What’s wrong with Blue and Red? Someone being bored is hardly justification for making things much more difficult for others. My £0.02

Green = Pakistan flag
Orange = India flag
It just makes more sense IMO. And being the only one that posted that doesn’t mean that I’m the only one that thought about that.
Anyway they can provide a file for Orange/Green units & Blue/Red units, just like Aegean theater makers did.
And Green/Orange units are contrasted, not as much as Blue/Red but still and surrounded by a black line so I really don’t see the difficulty here. -
I agree… Using country flag colours to decide on icon colour is the best route to take… When doing theaters like this, having blue and red used for friend and foe creates too many disputes; as we all symbolize red for the “bad guy”. Then there is the case of Aegean where blue and red best represent the nations flags by colours, and again have insulted some members… Well you can’t make everyone happy… But if we can just agree with using colours that best represents the nations flag, we can maybe not start an out cry if someone uses a red icon symbol when the nations flag is mostly red. Just my opinion.

Is there anyone willing to model the PAF UCAVs and Indian UAVs?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Indian_Air_ForceSince there will be no JSTARS UAVs will be tasked to do recon missions to identify ground units.

+1000!
We don’t care if “bad” are red, green, blue or brown!!!.. Mot important is to know which country we are!..
There are no “bad” or “good” guys dedicated colour! … “bad” is the oposit camp … that’s all!

Humm….I can smell the old rivality of India and Pakistan in the air. Please guys, red, blue, orange and green are just colors! Don´t bring national rivalry and political issues to this theater.
As the Aegean and EMF theater, the Pak-Indo is/will be a great add-on theater. Keep smooth.;)
@Zelegend: Great work!
Looking forward to the release.

I’m French, not Pakistani nor Indian.
I don’t have any opinion on these countries, both are kinda unknown for me military/politicaly talking.
The flag thing is something I always thought about and will always want. I used the colour “fix” for the Aegan theater too (turkish = red / greeks blue) even if it didn’t really worked… lol
If for example there would be a teather with only France vs Greece or Argentina I’d like france to be red and Greece/Argentina blue because of the flag colours. -
Any 3D modellers interested in implementing UAVs/UCAVs??

I agree that using country flag colors is a good idea.
However, it would be best if India can be represented by Light Blue.
Also, i have to agree with Malc. I cant’ make out the orange and the green that easily and I really have to strain. The Blue and green would be a good contrast.

Wow, really looking forward to this. Awesome variations in terrain, and a political tinderbox. How about something like this for a scenario:
2013, conventional conflict erupts India vs Pakistan (in the realm of possible over suspicion of sponsored terror attacks). Campaign triggers set for China to enter on side of Pakistan. Sets up for another trigger to bring US joining India (first by naval forces, then increasing air force deployments in India a few days later). Maybe Russia could have a trigger to get in it too (Russia and US flying coop, how cool would that be!).

Guys,
What is in your opinion more time consuming task? Creating tiles, creating transitions,editing paths/areas, making sets or applying tiles manually on the terrain? -
Editing paths/areas really wouldn’t be much of a task, BUT in BMS just about every water tile(coastal) needs to have plains areas and if you’re going to use the shader on rivers then theres additional work, lots of it.
I’d say they all rank pretty close to the same time consumption. Of course that all depends also on how nice you want it to look. I never really intended to get into terrain but I have, which in the end is good as I’ll need it for my next adventure.;)
I’ve already seen some stuff that was just thrown together so it didn’t take any time at all, old terrain tiles, low res, no real proper paths or areas, etc. And the end result was quite grotesque.

Guys,
What is in your opinion more time consuming task? Creating tiles, creating transitions,editing paths/areas, making sets or applying tiles manually on the terrain?the last one for me for sure, it’s not that hard for small areas, but when you have to edit almost all the 64 segs it’s really time consuming and BORING, that said you don’t have the percepition of terrain elevation and 3d models on it as you cannot fly it (that would add more time consuming), so will make “another pass” to control also all of thouse.
creating good tiles is harder, but less time consuming imho compared to fine edits to the L2 files -
