More media bullshit?

The pilot is on the Mig’s 6, same height and rough speed - how could he not see him especially when another object is bugged in the same vicinity (according to the HUD).

(We have some much better ones with our friends & allies in this part of the world

I’m kinda curious about the white HUD display. Am I remembering correctly (from another thread) that the HUD color is green and that there were no other options IRL, and that the color options in BMS were not realistic? Not trying to derail the thread, or start any arguments, it just kinda jumped out at me and aroused my curiosity.

Its normal on HUD tapes.
The camera does not look at the HUD in flight, it looks in front of the AC and the HUD symbology is added afterwards. So the HUD actual color is not the one recorded on the HUD tapes.

Thanks Cruz, I knew somehow that color was not right. Thanks for the clarification. I have always gone with green, just to keep it realistic, and will continue to do so, even if white is easier to see in some circumstances. No idea what purple would be good for…LOL

well, given the negative closure rate on the tape, I dunno about calling it a near miss - although, the aircraft are VERY close there.
I see that it gives closure rate to the nearest 10’s of knots. Different to BMS…
The bugged target is quite a bit further away, and lower as well.

yup, 1.7nm according to the HUD, but I’m rusty so could be looking at the wrong readout.
-
Its 1.7 miles alright. I also note that the Target Locator Line in the HUD has an F at the start of the angle to the target. Another difference to BMS. Specific to the MLU perhaps?

Couldn’t this be the wingman, and he’s actually got the flight lead bugged?
comes outta the clouds and viola–what the hell!!
Or, he’s got his own flight lead bugged while flying in the soup, pops out, and, what the hell!!
Also, those aren’t his wheels, those are his boards.
check out this vid at 4:20.

It’s on the BBC so can definitely be regarded as over-exaggerated bullshit. Best ignored, they are a biased and corrupt state broadcaster who would make Kim Jong proud…
-
if they start posting a video everytime AC fly in close formation we will have plenty of them LOL
