      Hey all.

Looooong time Simmer here and former Falcon 4.0 nut (way back when it first came out). I’ve played around with BMS occasionally over the past couple of years and found it amazing what you guys are doing with such an old (but still excellent) platform. And who doesn’t love the Viper :P.

About a year ago I got the opportunity to try the Oculus rift DK1 at friends house and was instantly hooked, I knew I had to have one for my flight and racing sims. I pre-ordered the DK2 and have one now. It mostly gets used in DCS and Live for speed and is excellent fun, I fly with a group of friends who also have Rifts and I honestly can’t go back to non-stereoscopic gaming now. Once you’ve been “in” the action its just not as immersive to “watch” the action through a screen.

Anyway I’ve had a quick search through the forum and I can’t really see any info about getting the OR to work with BMS? I would have though BMS would have been an ideal sim for the OR with its relatively low graphical load and ability to maintain high frame rates. Is anybody working on it? Has it been discussed at all?

      Cheers
      Ben

fairly sure its been done already (IIRC), but the resolution on the current kits is way too low - you cannot read the HUD.

Yes, its been discussed - I vaguely recall sthalik commenting about having a friend testing it in BMS?

That would be the thread I linked to in the post before yours 😉

I know what you mean… but they are just development kits after all. incidentally I have no problem reading the hud in the DCS aircraft… shrugs

The DK2 resolution is passable as long as you have decent anti-aliasing, unfortunately I haven’t been able to get AA or DSR to work with the Rift in DCS so it’s not really usable for any sort of combat that requires eyeballing, but the flight immersion and presence are unparalleled. For what it’s worth, +1 for Rift support in BMS.
