Edit ATC airbase namings
-
Hi All,
I want to replace the sound and text for some airbase names in an custom theater.
So I studied the forum and found tlktool and was able to get all wav’s so I could eventually replace.
My question is how do I find easily all the names for all airbases only and on which position (wav nr),
Also I would like to have the correct name in game for text seen on screen, but not sure where these are read from.Cheers Obi1

thanks eddropper! I had looked in this f4talk csv but did not think it was in there because the index number of extracted wav file was way higher. but you proved me wrong here. Thanks again, also learned new thing about this subtitles for add on. nice!Cheers Obi1

I’m not sure yet if the text numbers shown are what links to sound numbers yet.
I haven’t got the extraction figured out yet.
But if 2500 sound says “mandumi” then this is the link.
If not , we still need to look further into where link is.But… even if link is not found, changing all sound files that say “mandumi” to “Obi1 base”
And then change all text that says “mandumi “ to “Obi1 base” should work.It will be much easier if we know exactly what links text to sound.
Did you test 2500 sound file ? -
I agree with updating all mandumi parts at both sides should work.
I tested 2500 and its:‘AH sixty four’ wav here so its not the index for this text 2500.
Also the link I had send earlier says airbases started at file number 28124.
So it would certainly help if we somehow can find the link between text and wav’s but probably could do without them by searchingPS. I now see the order is actually the same for both, so makes finding the needed wav’s very easy now.
Cheers Obi1

also in stations+ils.dat there is this callsign index, where does this index point to? Is this index pointing to some specific sound file for the airbase?
PS Nevermind: seems also like the same order number from the list
-
“PS. I now see the order is actually the same for both, so makes finding the needed wav’s very easy now.”
Well at least this is good!
I will be back after I finish spinning my wheels in extracting. -
okay the old falcon 4.0 system was a mess, as there was harcoded stuff with the eval / frag numbers.
4.34 brings huge change in this area for theater developpers, no more black voodoo magic :
open your station+ils.dat file in campaign folder
the 4 last numers of each airbases are
<tower_frag><ground frag=“”><approach frag=“”><atis station=“” frag=“”>so you can link DIRECTLY without messing with your eval.xml files the FRAG number with your airbase
of course you still need to edit the fragfile.xml to include your new frags, and compile your falcon.tlk file
f4talk csv is used for subtitle only</atis></approach></ground></tower_frag>
-
Thank you !
It says right at the top of stationils file just like you said…
I just never noticed it before. This is the link we were looking for.
Now mod to subtitles AND sound files are easy!

Hi BMS devs,
Looks like there is a typo in F4Talk csv.
Line 2189 has a " too many, starting the line.
Not sure if it really breaks things, but can imagine it does.Cheers Obi1

csv is used for subtitles only
-
Yes, but I was afraid that when there is a " too many that perhaps reading the csv makes lines or columns get shifted by 1?
Or that that single subtitle will not display.
Anyway just found out and corrected here myself but wanted to give you guys a heads up.Cheers Obi1
