Here’s one more…
What about having a walk out there and closing to SA-2 site, just to annoy them a little? With best regards.

Testing some thrusted AG weapons in 4.35 with my favourite birdie…
(EuroWar “Mantis at Dawn” campaign, night Strike attack. Guess what? I love those Taurus)
With best regards.

Great theater thanks. What is the status of Russia in Tiger Spirit campaign? They seem to be orange color, but behave quite aggressively. At 3 hours of campaign start I saw one SU-33 and one Yak-141 closing my base Kimhae from the north. They disappeared and I guessed that they were shot down. About 30min from this I departed to a 2 ship DEAD mission bearing 330 with two escorts and one ECM plane.
After 5min flight I got information that hostile bearing 90, 30miles away at 8000ft. Continued my mission, but after 5min of this I looked left at my wingman and noticed that some twin tail plane was closing him. Looked closer and saw it was Yak-141. No one reacted to this. I thought it must be hostile to do this, so turned sharply (well only 5G with my loading) and tried to attack it. It disappeared and couldn’t find it with radar, nor my escort reacted. Continued my mission and soon after coming back to transit altitude 21k noticed that the Yak-141 again closed my wingman. Did the same but with more care to not to loose the sight. Got it on radar as jammer sign 10miles ahead going north. Tried to lock, but couldn’t burn through the jamming. Still my wingman seemed to have a lock to it, but didn’t shoot.
Closed in and at 5miles switched to close A-A mode. Set radar to boresight and it locked immediately.
First AIM-9X hit it and it started to smoke. Second was spoofed by flare, and then AIM-120C finished it.Quite strange occasion which I have not seen before. Anyways it was sort of fun happening. Unexpected and sort of realistic(?)
Anyways long story short:
- Are Russians enemy on this campaign (couldn’t find any documentation explaining this)?
- Why was the Yak-141 just tailing my wingman and not shooting (closing for guns maybe? Winchester but AI didn’t act accordingly?
- Where did the Russian planes came from? Too long trip from their base(?) and couldn’t see their CV on the map?
Thanks in advance!

- Yes they are at the start of the campaign.
- The Yak-141 has a very limited ordinance load. Most likely, it expended its missiles on your element or escort flight and is trying to sneak up with a gun kill.
- The Russian bases are in the far northeast section of the map. The reason you can’t see their bases is that I adjusted the ValidAC file and made it so that the advanced Russian aircraft are not flyable by the human player. Korea 2012 is setup to be flown by the NATO/ROK side of the map. Plus the Yak-141 and some of the other Russian Aircraft don’t have a very good Flight Model for human pilots at the moment.

Ok, thanks.
