Best throttle options
-
The Warthog throttle is hard to find and stupidly overpriced…any other options please for a stand alone throttle.
-
For BMS - Cougar TQS and RealSim TSUBA R2…comb Ebay daily.
-
I like my CH, but it’s not a perfect match for the F16 if that’s what you’re after. The mini stick takes a bit of getting used to, but otherwise, it’s an excellent throttle with 3 buttons on the front edge and 4 hats plus the mini stick.
-
There are actually a number of nice looking full Cougar sets on Ebay right now…given that they are all in the San Antonio area and shipping US Only, I have to surmise that they are all USAF surplus units from Lackland AFB.
I happen to have a USAF surplus Cougar TQS. Nice snag if you’re willing.
-
but which is better, for both BMS and DCS…the Cougar TQS or the Warthog throttle?
-
Depends on what you’re flying - if it’s single engine, a Cougar. If it’s dual engine, a Warthog. As I’ve mentioned before - a WH throttle pretty much sucks when single engine locked.
Optimum collection - a full up Warthog stick/throttle set and a TUSBA R2 equipped Cougar TQS. And a set of Saitek Combat Pro pedals…if you can find a set. Glad I got mine when I did.

Try techinn online. I bought one there for 277.

That sucks. I’m still waiting to take delivery intl shipping and all. But I have been working on getting my tqs running like it should
-
Well I am waiting to hear back from them about that but am not optimistic, and the RealSim TSUBA R2 will run me almost $200.

Is that with shipping? If it’s like the FSSB then it would be worth the money.
-
If one had to choose between a Warthog throttle and the old Cougar TQS with the usb mod, which way to go? The Hog throttle has way more button options and dual throttles for my Hornet but is hard to find and overpriced.
Related, anyone have any leads on Warthog throttles in Canada for a reasonable price.

Took a look…they accept PayPal.

Yes they do, but heres the problem: paypal will draw from my joint bank account and the prone-to-violence-cop-wife will not authorize such an expense. Further to that, the only way to add funds to paypal now is through a bank account.

…this is one reason I won’t allow them access to my bank accounts (even though I’m single). I once had a Visa card with a low limit that I tied to my PayPal, but it got yanked for lack of use because that was all I used it for, for International transactions. Which for me were very low traffic. Then my PayPal credit line became jacked up to the point the cards became moot anyway.

Enjoy being single brother cause with marriage you lose direct access to any money you earn.
-
…heh…at my age I think I’ve crossed the line into prospect of eternal bachelorhood.

Mower, have you tried to connect that card to PayPal? I have my prepaid card connected to PayPal and it works very well. Recently I was also able to link my company’s benefit card with some crazy restrictions to Google Pay. In both cases even if the shop does not support said payment methods you should be able to transfer money back to your bank account.
