      Hello guys,

I hope you are all fine. I just wanted to start a weekend topic.

Before 4.35 (before Dx11 obviously), I was using the BMS in borderless mode and with 2x supersampling thanks to the Nvidia Profile Inspector. That combination was making possible a flawless operation of Falcon with cyristal clear image quality.

However, with the new changes on graphics system (which I am gratefull), I cannot manage to have both of them worked together.

Profile Inspector is not working with Falcon anymore but, thanks to the new Dx11 system, now I can use Nvidia Control Panel effectively. I am so happy to be able to use AA, sharpening and filtering settings. In addition to those, in Control Panel there isn’t supersampling option but it is possible to use DSR.

The DSR works perfect but Falcon needs to be in fullscreen mode. If not, it overscales the image according to the monitor and only a quarter of the image can be seen.

And I don’t want to use fullscreen mode because it makes impossible to Alt+Tab (unlike 4.34).

So, I am curious how many of you used previous BMS versions like me and what you are doing right now.

And, I am curious whether the Devs planning anything for it.

I wish a good weekend for everyone.

      Best regards,
      TUVAF-Ripper

Do the scaling options on the Nvidia control panel (the ‘Adjust Desktop Size and Position’ page) have any effect?

(specifically the checkbox to override the scaling mode set by games)

I tried it but unfortunately doesn’t work. It just changes the resolution back to native and fits the screen.

I just realized I hadn’t tried this since upgrading my rig … turned AA off and set DSR to 4x and 0% smoothing. Looks great, and surprisingly good FPS in the 80-100 range! I tried this on my old rig and got about 25fps… lol

Makes text and symbols on MFD much easier to read.

But only way to get that resolution in borderless-window mode, that I know (someone please correct me) is to actually change your desktop to that. Which has a lot of downsides, to apps that aren’t dpi-aware.

And it has some downsides in-game too… the popup comms menus and other overlay text is too small to read. (I think there are workarounds or settings to adjust that, but I don’t remember ottomh.)

I found the proper settings in NV panel and I am using reshade that helps a lot here…

If you’re interested, I’ll try to post something either here or on the Falcon Lounge if anyone interested…

              Cheers

I would be happy to hear it.

Most useful to learn that, Airtex.

And thanks a lot for sharing, I’m going to make some test soon.

About the borderless mode, on my little own I started to use Windows’ magnifier utility, but this just when creating a TE and only to avoid to adjust the overall screen resolution consequently.

                      Just my own cent here.

With best compliments (for your thoughts, as your usual) and regards.
