- The CPD Only version includes only the Centre Panel Display copied from the Full version.
Centre Console
- This represents a view of the aircraft cockpit centre console with all of the various controls and displays.
- There are a number of hidden buttons to access additional views as shown in the screenshots below.
- A Zoomed Console which expands sections of the Centre Console to make data entry easier is available via hidden buttons.
Combined Console
- This is accessible via hidden buttons on the Centre Console.
- For convenience it combines the cockpits left and right auxiliary panels onto a single panel.
Centre Panel Display
- The Centre Panel Display includes four pages, Data, Maps, Plan and Fuel detailed as follows.
- The Data page displays the Electronic ADI and Electronic HSI with hidden buttons on the EHSI to adjust the Course and Heading.
- The Maps page displays the moving maps and is descibed in greater detail in the Centre Panel Display Maps Page below.
- The Plan page has three sub-pages Plan, Stpt and Comm to display the various aspects of the Briefing information.
- The Fuel page displays a graphical representation of the fuel status with various fuel selection buttons.
- Each page includes a common Day/Night mode selection button.

- Print the Briefing and save the DTC after any mission changes to ensure that the all of the displayed information is up to date.
Centre Console Map Viewer
- The Centre Console Map button displays a full size map of the current Theatre using the Map Viewer control.
- Selecting a point on the map gives an enlarged view centred on that point, selecting again returns to the full size map.
- Selecting the border exits the map display.
- When inflight, the Waypoints, Course Lines, Pre-Planned Threats and User Designated Targets are displayed on the map.
Custom Selection Of Maps
- Additional theatre maps can be added to either of the map displays listed above.
- This can be achieved by editing the Map Control and Map Viewer Control in the profile via the Helios Profile Editor.
Charts
- The Charts display is toggled on and off via a hidden button as shown in the screenshots below.
- It currently includes charts for the Korea, Balkans and Israel theatres.
- The charts are automatically selected according to the current theatre but default to Korea if no charts are available.
Basic KneeBoards
- The System Menu includes a button to toggle between Basic Kneeboards, the default, and Full Kneeboards.
- All of the Kneeboards are accessed via a hidden button as shown in the screenshots below.
- The Basic Kneeboards are auto-updating and display information from the Briefing and Callsign files.
- Print the Briefing and save the DTC after any mission changes to ensure that the all of the displayed information is up to date.
Full KneeBoards
- The System Menu includes a button to toggle between Basic Kneeboards, the default, and Full Kneeboards.
- All of the Kneeboards are accessed via a hidden button as shown in the screenshots below.
- The Full Kneeboards option displays either a default set of pages or a set of pages generated by Weapon Delivery Planner.
- Use the Update Kneeboards option in Weapon Delivery Planner and select the options you require for the left and right pages.
- Then select Update Kneeboards in the System Menu of the profile to display the updated kneeboards.
- Select Restore Kneeboards from the System Menu to restore the default set of pages.
- The profile Basic vs Full Kneeboards display mode is retained after a profile restart.
KneePads
- In Basic Kneeboards mode the System Menu includes an Auto Update KneePads and a Stop Update KneePads button.
- Selecting Auto Update KneePads automatically copies the briefing pages to the left and right pages of the Cockpit KneePads.
- This setting is retained after a profile restart until Stop Update KneePads is selected.
- This also restores the pages of the Cockpit KneePads to those that existed before the profile was started for the first time.
- Print the Briefing and save the DTC after any mission changes to ensure that the all of the displayed information is up to date.
Web Server
- A built in Web Server allows the KneePads to be viewed in a web browser on any device connected to the local network.
- This runs automatically if Auto Update KneePads is selected in the System Menu.
- To access the KneePads page get the local IPv4 Address by running ipconfig in cmd.exe or by any other preferred method.
- Then enter http://[IPv4 Address]:8080/ or just [IPv4 Address]:8080/ in the address bar of a web browser.
- Print the Briefing and save the DTC after any mission changes to ensure that the all of the displayed information is up to date.
Comms Panel
- The Comms Panel is available via a selection button on the Centre Console.
- Selecting the relevant button sends BMS the required key combinations for that command or request.
Flight Start-Up Mode
- The profile includes automatic selection of flight start up mode.
- Depending on the flight start-up mode the controls are set accordingly to the Ramp Start, Hot Start or Air Start positions.
Instrument Lighting
- The profile gauges backlighting adjusts automatically in accordance with the instrument lighting setting.
- The profile overall brightness also adjusts automatically in accordance with the instrument lighting setting.
- For convenience the setting can be changed by swiping up or down on the right hand side of the Centre Console.
Aircraft Type
- When in-flight the aircraft type is automatically used to determine which panels or gauges are displayed in the profile.
- Either the GE RPM Gauge or the PW RPM Gauge is displayed according to aircraft type.
- Either the IFF Panel or the AUX COMM Panel is displayed according to aircraft type.
- Either the ECM Panel or the IDIAS Panel is displayed according to aircraft type.
- Either the Fuel Gauge LH Needle Fan or RH Needle Fan is displayed according to aircraft type.
Optional RTT MFDs
- The profile can optionally use RTT MFDs for both the Centre Console and the Zoomed Console.
- The full setup instructions to enable the RTT MFDs are provided in the separate Setup Guide.
- If you aren’t experiencing lagging MFDs then it isn’t recommend changing to this since there wouldn’t be any advantage.
Miscellaneous Features
- The Air Brake Indicator on the Landing Gear Panel shows the actual Air Brake position via a moving tape.
- Selecting the hidden button on the Landing Gear Panel Air Brake Indicator toggles the Air Brake Open/Closed.
- The Caution Panel displays for a few seconds for each new fault detected.
- An Auxiliary Panel for the HMCS and TWA Panels is available via a hidden button shown in the screenshots below.
- The profile checks for an incorrect Helios version and notifies the user accordingly.
- The profile checks if the Arial Narrow font is not installed and notifies the user accordingly.
- Helios now adds %BMSFalconPath% and %HeliosPath% environmental variables to the Process Control interface.
- The executable files in the C:\Bin folder access the required paths via parameters passed from the Process Control interface.
- Therefore none of the executables can be run as a standalone application.
- Includes an UnblockFiles.exe utility in the C:\Bin folder to be run after first installation of the profile.
- This will unblock any files that have been blocked by the operating system.
Setup Guide
- A Setup Guide, Non-US Keyboard Guides and Change Log are included in the download.
Note: If updating from the previous version make sure to replace the BMS key files, the Helios profile and the Bin and Images folders completely.

Installation of keyfiles for Ice’s Updated Profile 4.37-07 for Falcon BMS 4.37 U3
- First copy the “BMS - Auto.Key” from the “C:\Bin\Keyfile” folder to the \User\Config folder overwriting the existing file. BMS should already be pre-set to use the “BMS - Auto.Key” otherwise set it accordingly.
1. If not using Alternative Launcher and not needing to change keyfile bindings:
- Add all of your HOTAS DX bindings to the end of the “BMS - Auto.Key” file.
- Leave the Helios Profile pre-set to use the “BMS - Auto.Key” in the C:\Bin\Keyfile folder.
2. If using Alternative Launcher and/or needing to change keyfile bindings:
- Run the Falcon BMS Launcher and configure all of the Axis Assignments, don’t touch the Key Mapping, and then launch Falcon BMS 4.37 U3 from it.
- If you need to change any keyfile bindings then set the Helios Profile to use the “BMS - Auto.Key” in the “Falcon BMS\User\Config” folder, otherwise leave the Profile pre-set to use the “BMS - Auto.Key” in the C:\Bin\Keyfile folder.

Notes and Additions
If this profile is opened with a previous version of the Helios Profile Editor this will actually remove the new features from the profile file.
So make sure to update Helios to version 1.6.6040.3 or to a later version when it becomes available.Installation of keyfiles for Ice’s Updated Profile 4.37-07 for Falcon BMS 4.37 U3

Superb work!
Thanks to you for sharing! -
Thats some amazing stuff right there!!! Hats off to you sir…:headb:

This is very fine stuff!
I’m a beginner with BMS, Helios etc. and i get it running.
Thank you for the very good Setup Guide!!!But, i have two question:
1. How can i activate the Front Console with Centre Display?
2. For what would i need MFDE or YAME64? Ithought that Helios would do the whole job… -
1. There is a button called CPD to activate it.
2. You don’t need MFDE or Yame with the use of Helios 1.6. Some users still prefer to use them. In the end the Display Extraction Helios uses is 95% based on the code of MFDEGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

What am I doing wrong.
Helios version is 1.6.3504.0000i have no waypoints in CPD.
Otherwise I’m very enthusiastic about the new version. Thank you

You need to update to 1.6.3504.01 as the BMS interface to read string data for NavPoints is added in the latest version not included in 1.6.3504.0

A couple of things to check. Make sure you are saving the DTC before entering 3D. The profile stpts are pulled from the DTC. Also I ran into an issue where my callsign name in the windows registry had some extra characters in it. BMS didn’t seem to care but how the current version of the profile is reading the registry it seems to cause issues. I believe linknet has updated the current version of the profile to work around the problem.

Version 1.6.3504.01 isn’t necessary, the profile works fine with the 1.6.3504.00 included with the download.

Check out @wheelchocks advice in the previous post and if that doesn’t work then download the profile again and replace the “UpdatePathNames.exe” and the “Ice’s Falcon BMS 4.35.hpf” profile file itself. Nothing else was changed.
I made a small correction on 20-03-2021 which didn’t justify a new version. If you downloaded after this date then you have the current version and no need to download again.
Just to reiterate:
1. Save the Briefing (by selecting Print)
2. Save the DTC
3. Reset the Helios profileLet me know if you are still having the issue and we can investigate further.

This is incorrect. String data has not been added to Helios. You may be looking at the history which might contain a branch where work was done to implement it but its not in a workable state

Thanks again for the hint and your work, it’s a brilliant program. I am very happy about it.Greetings

VolkerHave you selected the correct mode from Ramp/Hot/Air Start on the System Menu? That should set them all correctly, unless I’ve missed the odd one or two.
