Letal ground HQ - need suggestion
-
Hi All,
I build a TE to train myself on CCRP. Put an HQ Battalion as target…and the problem is that the target is myself they have ATZ, M997, K263, HMMWV, KSAM
I meaning that i try to bomb and sometime hits some of them but each time they hit me with a precision that do not leave any chance to me :wfish: and i eject each time.
I attack them with a POP UP and after fire same chaff and flare…nothing it seems unuseful.
Theater Balkan (4.35) but i think doesn’t matter.
Waiting for your hints in order to survive. Only thing at the moment for me is to avoid to attack them
Thanks

you don’t execute a popup CCRP without missile stepping to CCIP once your MK1 Eyball sees the target(s) - then you track your pipper onto the target and put the thing on the thing. On a side note this type of target prosecution would not be performed in today’s world but certainly good to learn and have fun with. Also, I have no idea if your attack profile is correct specific to offset angle, speed, and altitude….
CCRP for a popup is used to spot your target, then missile step to CCIP

other suggestions:
-
CCRP at medium altitude
-
stand-off smart weps
-
stand-off LOFT

Hi Stalker,
Really thanks for your hints. I believed CCRP was better in this situation because i can avoid to be over the enemy location…. but ok i will follow your suggestion and see what’s happen Thanks!!!

I thought you said you were doing a pop-up maneuver??
if you’re only using CCRP what is your altitude? That’s what hard decks are for to protect you from getting hit at lower altitudes….for HQ I’d recommend a hard deck of 15000 MSL

A…
I was at 1000, arrived at 5 from the target i start pop up climbing and when HUD sign allow release the bomb. Put chaff and flare turning right… and missile kick me…
Maybe i have to try from 15000

I bet you’re doing loft, not pop-up.

It was loft right sorry….
Proper training it could be great…even if my english is not so …fluent I will think to this when i have more time…but thanks a lot for your help. In the meantime i will check discord and sign in.

In this case the threat should dictate the type of delivery.
KSAM is nasty! So you should use guided munitions, CCRP level delivery from medium altitude (17000ft+) as the most desirable type of attack.
If you absolutely must use unguided GP bombs/cluster bombs, then a ‘toss delivery’ from ultra low level at maximum stand-off range is your next best bet. You need to loft very accurately and descend immediately back down to the deck as your come off the target to avoid getting hit by the KSAM. K-SAM has exceptional ECCM and chaff resistance so you need to expose yourself to its MEZ as little as possible: -
this ^^

Hi all. Thanks i need to study a Lot.
I tryed form 18000 without results.
HQ - Gundam = 4 to 0. But at the end i will do It.
-
Hi. As guided weapon could y suggest a type? Thanks
-
CBU 103. And the war is over.
-
Ok! HQ wait a moment, i am arriving….
Thanks
-
B61 and the war is double over….
-
Aaaah ok! Thanks

A K-SAM is a crotale-NG in its essence. It was fielded in the 2000s and it is a shorad system. The 15K feet suggested above wont work. You need to be above the WEZ i.e. above 20K >AGL<.
The way to beat it consistently with non-PGM is to use terrain masking to approach it, followed by loft bombing with low angle (30°). If you are on a flat terrain, it will simply not work.Figure below (done quickly on CMO) gives you an example of good (coming from NW, using terrain masking and preparing for the LOFT) and bad (coming from SW) attacks. Look at the LOS of the K-SAM radar. Terrain and radar LOS works similarly in BMS. Learn how to use it and you will become a SAM killer machine.
Also Important: When attacking SAMs with radars try to NOT have your jammer on when you pull up for the attack. Do your pull up, focus on the weapons release and engage the jammer as soon as the FCR triggers your RWR. When that happens and you turn the jammer on, you will break the lock and the battery will need to reacquire you. THESE are the seconds you need to do your 5G slice back and go behind terrain masking again to egress.

Hi tbcu, many thanks!
You and all of you guys is quite impressive how deep is your knowledge and above all it seems very close to the reality (i cannot be sure because unfortunatly i am not a pilot but it seems so) . Other demostration of the value of BMS.
From my side i approached the HQ very low, high speed, and make a TOSS, release the bomb (first attempt) and after chaff flare i survive from their attack!. But in the debriefing i discovered that i miss the objective.
Groud attack is a big deal and for me a strong opportunity to grow very big.
I tried even with guided bomb, no attack from HQ but again my bomb miss the enemies. Going on, i have to try and try. Again.
