Virpil CM3 Throttle inverted axis
-
Good evening, I just received a T-50cm3 throttle from Virpil
The issue I have with BMS is that the axis for the throttles are reversed, and in the BMS config advanced menu, or in alternative launcher the throttle axis are the only one that cannot be reversed?
Other sims have a proper option for inverting all axis and there is no problem.
Is there a way to solve this?
Thanks everyone -
Don’t have one but my first thought is to use the Virpil software? Found
video, not sure if it will help or not… -
I use a CM2 Virpil throttle. In the Virpil software all looks fine, but in BMS the axis is inverted. As Icer suggests, you need to turn on inversion in the Virpil software for the right throttle. There is no other place you can invert it

im also using virpil hardware if anyone hazards across some questions, here is what i have found.
you can split the device into virtual devices of 32 buttons to allow you to use the rotary modes 5 layers and the base buttons, but I recommend emailing them as I did and asking them to add the ability to emulate keyboard callbacks, as the sorting of these virtual virpil devices is an entire crap shoot, as they are all named similarly in the UI of BMS.
If you want my advice, use the aerobatics throttle on the rear and the modern + on the front detent for best f16 experience .

Does the DeviceSorting.txt file help manage the multiple-virtual-device chaos?
(I think the tip is to keep a backup copy of that file… it sometimes gets overwritten/randomized by BMS.)

Another option is to go with Joystick Gremlin and VJoy to
a) do axis conversion
b) Split devices into multiple 32 butoon, 8 axis virtual devices -
I might try B, thanks man. I really like this stuff but it’s a got a bit to go. I’ve been doing everything as emualting keyboard callbacks since like 2003 so I might just be old hat long tooth grump butthead hahaha.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone with this issue who’s arrived here, you need to open the VPC Configuration Tool (red icon) and select your throttle. In the list of axis, double click the throttle axis rX and set the Inversion check box, then do the same for the rY checkbox. rX should be False and rY should be True. Once done, click the green button that says “Save VPC Device”. This will fix it for you. Note that you’ll have to change the inversion within any other sim’s bindings (DCS, IL-2, et al) that you may have already setup.
Hope this helps someone.

Can confirm this works.

@porkchopper yeah thats helps, but we really need to Invert option, becouse i`m too old for this hard work - make a invers for all simulators)

Just as a heads-up, 4.36 now allows for inversion of throttle axis
