[KTO] 4.35.1 AAR night training

Hey guys you’re welcome, I’m glad you’re enjoying the TE (or as much as nigh AAR can be called “enjoyable” )
All the best, Uwe

Great stuff, hoover, thanks for sharing!
One thing I did when I went knee-deep into AAR practice was to use the Dump Fuel command (Alt+D). That means that you can basically make your refueling take as long as you like. Especially useful for when you want to practice turn hookups and/or staying on in the turn. For instance, if you are refueling on the long leg and almost full and want to stay on in the upcoming turn for the practice, dump fuel to avoid getting disconnected.
And for the purists, it is not a feature in the real F-16, but in the navy jets you can dump fuel. It just happens to work with the BMS F-16 too which I found sped up my AAR practice immensely.

Hi all. Thanks for this TE very usefull to practice. I am ok for the first tanker. On the second one i do not receive “clear to contact position” to enable me to refuel when i am behind the tanker…what am i missing?
many thanks, Ciao

Make sure you input the correct tanker frequency in the UHF radio. AFAIR only one tanker in this mission uses a preset frequency, the other you need to enter by hand. So get the frequency from the 2D map before entering the mission, or read it from hoovers first post here

Hi Jayb. Thanks for hint. Anyway i take the frequency from the briefing mail in the forum and the Tanker answer me without issue. After when i go behind me i am expecting that he say again “free to contact position” as the first tanker did, but no words comes from the tanker. I dont know if the behavior change with tanker different model (the first one is different from the second one)

Hm, two things come to mind: Check that you have given a Y-3 command on the first tanker once refueling done, so that you are out of his loop and ready for the next tanker. Also, when approaching the second tanker, ask AWACS for vector to tanker (Q-Q-4), they will give you a frequency as well that you can check against your UHF setting.

There is a bug/feature that we have seen in 4.35.1 flights where you try to refuel more than once…the second attempt sometimes/usually requires a Y-2. Not sure why but it works. This has been pretty consistent for us every time we look to refuel more than once in a single flight.

Good call, it might be that. Y-2 can help getting the call for “Cleared to contact position”. I use it routinely when close to stable behind the boom to make sure the tanker crew pays attention and clears me in as soon as possible.

Thanks Zeus and Jayb. Good hint!!

Yeah, it used to work like this. In 4.33. Check manual.

Does anybody have a current download link for this TE?
