Track IR purchase
-
I’m tired of trying to change views with buttons so I’m going to buy track IR. The problem is I don’t know what brand works best with BMS. Recommendations’ would be appreciated,:(
Thanks in advance

I have made a couple of DIY trackers and had them in comparison to TIR 4 and 5 so if you are opting for a comercial product I recommend to go for
It’s based on a PS3eye cam and an active IR Trackclip and opentrack as software. No need to go for the 180€ for a naturalpoint TrackIR5.
With some tinkering skills you could rebuild the System used by delanclip for around 15-20€/$ for a wired and 30€ for a wireless solution
Example of an DIY wireless IR headtracker

Another option is to go for a non visual gyro based tracker such as the EDtracker. I have as well build gyro tracker but IMHO the best results I got was always with an active IR tracker

I’d recommend buying anything but trackir so you can save some money for beer
I’m a very happy Delan customer as well, but if you know which end of the soldering iron gets warm you can easily build one yourself for less than $10 in parts if you have an unused webcam lying around (the ps3 eye works best though because of the high fps it supports). The software needed is freely available and open source, I’d recommend trying “opentrack” as it has multi platform support (Win, Mac, Linux) and is actively maintained.
All the best,
Uwe

I always link to TrackHat in these discussions. They have everything needed at a good price.

https://www.trackhat.org/Just that all of their kits with camera are out of stock. And a clip without a high FPS camera doesn’t make that much sense
Delan still sells full kits and at same price range
