Why have all these "Nowhere" objectives started to appear?

The Name and TName should be the same.

Hi Monster - what kind of link? A “Movement Link” or a “Parent Link”?
Although not shown on this screengrab, they are both there - a black line to show movement link, and a yellow line to show parent link. This used to work fine until just very recently - been tweaking things little by little and now I notice this. Was working perfect until recently, and had same good results with Panama Theater too.
C9 - The only way I can get the Name and TName to match is to manually enter each and every objective name. I am not overly keen on doing that, besides that’s not my understanding - the TName is what is “supposed” to be displayed in TE Editor and Campaign, it is derived from Parent name and Objective type (Junction in this instance) if the Name is “Nowhere”. This is fine as is, is it not? Except it now shows as "Nowhere in TE/Campaign. ****ing nightmare…

You don’t have to totally manually enter each name, just copy the TName and paste it into the Name box. After you’ve done that, all the names will be entered into the theater.wch/.idx files and will be output for use when you save your campaign file.

Which is in effect the same thing, and will hide the fact something has gone wrong. Since these nowhere’s have shown up, the ground campaign has gone wrong too, so something is obviously wrong and bastardising a fix won’t help.
Look at the Korea te_new.tac file and you’ll see ther are loads of nowheres with correct TNames too which do show properly in TE and Campaign.
-
If the campaign has gone wrong, then it’s something else, simply having the objectives being shown as Nowhere is not going to pork the campaign. Something else is askew.
Not to mention, it’s not bastardising, it’s the way it really should be done, regardless of what the Korea te_new.tac file contains!
What theater you working with?

That’s what I mean… They were working as per Korea, now they’re not, which means something has gone wrong and I can’t imagine what. I think the nowheres are a side-effect of something more fundamental being oncorrect. For ages, I didn’t have any nowheres, all were showing the TName.
Why do you think the Korea way of doing it isn’t correct? It’s been done like that for as long as I have been messing with theaters, approx 2002.
This is for Kuwait theater.

All along it was wrong, you can go back to original Falcon4.0 and notice it. The theater.wch file should contain all the object names for it to be correct.
The Add-On Kuwait? If so, I have it installed. If you’d like me to take a look, send me your Campaign folder.

Well I might just install F4 1.0 and have a look in that case! Thanks for the heads-up.
Where did you get Add-On Kuwait? I haven’t shared it with anyone at all so far… This is not the old PMC theater I am working with
Edit - took a look there just now. v1.0 uses Nowhere and resolved TNames to… Seoul and Seoul Junction for example.

Neither is mine, I created it, was just wondering if yours was named the same. I pretty much have all the Geo data for most of the earth.
Was working a few years ago with a tiler for the theater, was trying to work up some rendition of ODS, or a fictitious campaign, and real life prevented him to continue to tile so I dropped the project and moved on to other stuff. I can tile, but I didn’t feel like taking on the huge amount of art work tasks.

Sorted.
The objective which is to inherit it’s parent’s name needs to be linked to an objective with a certain priority. For example, I had an airstrip which was inheriting from “A Town” with a priority of 10. I upped the priority to 20 and the “nowhere” is no longer displayed, instead the TNAME is displayed, in this instance “A Town Airstrip”.
It makes sense, as I have been tweaking priorities recently to aid ground unit movement.
I’m going to document all further priority tweaks for further reference as I go through fixing these…
