FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
-
@hoover Appreciate it. I could use your feedback after I work on this. Unfortunately I only have a single Thrustmaster Hotas-X joystick to work with so I’m limited in being able to test hardware extensively, especially multi-device input - but I’ll do the best I can! I’m also making a few updates while I try and debug this. I’m going to extend the push-to-talk functionality so that you can use different buttons for executing different commands such as different radios uhf/vhf as suggested by MaxWaldorf. If you have any other recommendations just let me know.
-
@foxster Maybe you can borrow a simple usb gamepad or similar to be able to test with multiple input devices?
With joy2key and voice attack you can tell the program explicitly to go looking for “n” input devices.
All the best,
Uwe

@hoover Good idea. I’ve got a ps3 controller I can plug in and I can use virtual devices as well. I just can’t verify your exact buttons for you but I’ve got a game plan in place, just need a little more free time around a busy work schedule. A week or two should do it…
-
@foxster That sounds good! No worries about the timeframe, I don’t think we’re in any particular hurry
BTW, the only button presses foxvox recognizes during the PTT setup phase are those on my G25 shifter from the list in the screenshot above, no other devices (or their buttons rather) registers with foxvox.
The g25 shifter is a “leftover” from my old racing wheel setup (g25 from logitech) which is now connected to the gaming rig using a Leo Bodnar USB adapter.
All the best, Uwe

Hi,
MS Defender complains the installer contains the following malwares:
PUA:Win32/CandyOpen
App:Utorrent_BundleInstallerDo you have any other way of getting the files, without that installer?
-
Is AV still a thing, really? I guess you can trust foxster just fine if you downloaded the installer from the link he provided.
All the best,
Uwe
-
Not so much a lack of trust in foxster, but in the Installer app he used to create the installer. It is a common thing that they bundle adware or auto-installs of other apps (pre-selected). And that’s exactly what the malware Ids seem to indicate. So pretty sure the warnings are legit.

No idea if this site is legit, but the logos make me feel all warm and fuzzy (and I’m sensing a false sense of security as well, how come? )
All the best,
UwePS: Maybe you can compare the checksum of your download to this one:

Ok, my bad.
Seems the results were from a previous scan on other items.
Sorry for the noise.
DISREGARD. NO THREATS FOUND WITH MS DEFENDER. -
@logic Sorry, I’ve not been replying as I’ve been out sick this last week Really poorly timed coincidence I suppose. Thanks @hoover for your help and providing the scans! I assure you the software is clean. As for the msi packaging I did it myself using WIX Installer to create the bundle in Visual Studio. No help from any 3rd parties. The link I provided is original files only and there is no included addware, spyware, or anything of the sort.
FYI, the new joystick handler is going well with the new Push-to-Talk updates. I’m just a little behind because being sick and programming really don’t work well together! Now if I can just purge my own virus first …
-
@foxster I hope you feel better soon mate. No rush, health always comes first
All the best, Uwe

Hi,
I installed today FoxVox software. when it starts nothing happens.
I have installed W10 with framework 4.7.2 Any ideas?
Thanks -
@viper_falcon so you don’t see the voxfox main window after starting the program?
Cheers, Uwe
-
@hoover correctly, FoxVox main window is not starting.
Maybe I’m missing something… but can’t find it yet. -
@viper_falcon Foxvox will create a log file on any unhandled error in the default user temp directory (c:\users[username]\AppData\Local\Temp). Can you find a log file there by any chance? Also make sure it isn’t minimized to the system tray. It isn’t by default but just in case look for an icon there to click.
Fyi…working on v1.1 right now with some new features. I’ll have an update on it soon.
-
@foxster I get also no error log file i temp folder. I look also i taskbar i see no Foxvox.
Strange problem. I wil test on other pc i have time. -
@viper_falcon Maybe something got eaten by some weird / dumb antivirus program? Just guessing…
All the best,
Uwe
