Solved Delanclip/Opentrack users
-
Hi all love my delanclip track IR for the price!
how ever i am starting to get niggles with it a year on, wanted to see if there were any other users out there??
started off with the gamer set up and quickly paid for the the wireless Fusion, love it and it has worked flawlessly for the last year really…
did start to stutter in pit a few months ago, found a new version of opentrack and used the following tutorial, which is very good.https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34403-a-complete-guide-to-set-up-head-tracking-opentrack/
now im getting problems with windows 10 not always seeing the PS3 camera? after a few usb swops, what a pain, it does, but then the last week it stutters/jumps about in 3D?
i re-installed CL-eye driver, and checked my opentrack set up again, in the eye test and opentrack window everything looks good, but as soon as you get in to
pit
3D its all over the place!AAAAAAAArrrrrggghhhhhhh!!!
just tried it in DCS…and it was better?? but not perfect.
Any pointers and help so much appreciated, many thanks
John.

Thanks all, sorted with a re-install of CL-eye and opentrack, found that opentrack needed me to select
PS3 eye open driver
which i have never used in the past, perhaps i DLd without knowing and there was a conflict, set up a new .ini file just in case now working, just need to tweak
pitch`.John.

@arabianjules Hm, no issues with the deleanclip or the pseye cam on my end, they work fine on win10 and Linux. From the image I’d say you need to play with your camera settings (contrast and brightness)?
Do you have any other lightsources in your “humancave” that might influence the detection of the LEDs on the clip?
Cheers,
Uwe

@arabianjules That problem I get a couple of times each year, I suspect Windows updates.
My fix is easy and you tried that too: Reinstall the camera drivers, fixes it each time for me. Maybe you need to use a specific driver. For me, the driver is this: “CL-Eye-Driver-5.3.0.0341-Emuline.exe”, you can download it from Delanclip website
Does it jitter in the opentrack application too with the octopus ? If so, that is my fix at least, hope it helps. Edit: just noticed in your video that it skips/jitters in Opentrack too.

Just as a heads up Opentrack now ship with its own PS3Eye driver that could replace the CL-eye driver just in case
-
I can second this, I use the libusbK driver included in the instructions of the latest open track
And to top it off I’m on windows 11 and it’s working great. I just have to redo my curves since I lost my old profile
-
I also use Delanclip track IR, it works very well for me. Try ,modifying value LED radius pixels in PointTracker Settings.
And clean usb connector, blow very hard into the usb connector of the Delanclip itself.
This causes problems sometimes -
One thing to check/eliminate is to have the cable from the camera plugged directly into your PC, not thru any USB-hubs in case they could be the issue
-
If you are using the PS3 camera, its got 2 physical zoom settings. Make sure you have it zoomed in. (rotated fully anticlockwise, viewed from the front).

Good morning,
Been a long time Falcon 3, 4, BMS player. Actually got the original boxed copy of Falcon 4 early December 1998 and still have!Anyway, I have followed these forums for quite a few years now but never felt qualified enough to post. In recent months I’ve had a bit more time on my hands and decided to get back into Falcon BMS properly
I decided to buy the delanclip head tracker after reading posts and reviews.
WOW! Never in 30 years of flightsimming have i enjoyed virtual flying as much.
For anyone thinking about getting this hardware, do not hesitate. For me its a game changer.
It’s dead easy to set up and has, so far worked flawlessly.
I have one question, whilst in head track mode I am unable to use the mouse to click on buttons and switches in the cockpit. Is there anything I need to enable in the settings for me to be able to do this?
Regards.

@drillerman52 In SETUP Look under Advanced Options, View Control. This is how mine is setup:
How to set all this up is explained in the “Falcon BMS User Manual”, starting on page 40 to page 44. Hope this helps.
I use AITrack myself and love it. Once you get it setup and adjusted it can be as good as TrackIR, It’s so nice to be free of wearing a headset or something on you head. I am no longer tethered to my PC. -
@Abe
Thanks.
Now working. I have the wireless version of delanclip. It works great but I like the sound of your setup. Will it work with any camera? -
@drillerman52 According to the github website, any camera that can achieve at least 30fps and 480p will do the job fine. What I found is AITrack operates best when your face has light on it. It’s kind of the opposite of TrackIR which operates better in low light situations. AITrack works in conjunction with Opentrack. Just Google “Guide to AITrack and OpenTracker”. It is written by a guy named Lars Bodin. When I first tried AITrack, I could not get it to work and gave up. I still wanted to get rid of the hot headset so I tried it again and stuck with it until I learned the ins and outs of using it. Like I said, I love it. I won’t go back to TrackIR.

Guys, I realise this is quite an old thread but the problem I was having with the delanclip may be relatable to the this.
I found I was getting stuttering and freezing sometimes.
I found out it was actually the camera picking up the sun shining through the slatted blinds on to the wall behind me.
Once I’d eliminated this, absolutely no problems since.
