Solved Campaign Management with limited visibility
-
Hi BMS Team,
I was wondering if it is possible to build a campaign allowing the creation of custom flight for country but without let visibility to the enemy flight/assets.
I mean once builded save.0 with all units ad objectives give this to the human/teams covering the role of General for blu force let him to build his strategy (create flights, assign ground unit objectives and so on) but without let him see the “enemy part of the story”.
After give the same file to the other human/teams covering te role of General for red force to make the same, but without let him see the blue part.
Hope is clear.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Dear BMS team,
I thinking a lot on this, and in particular to the following scenario i would like to share to have your opinion and above all directions to realize:
Actors:
-
Campaign Designer Full scope (could be one guy or a team, but with one Leader )
-
General Team 1 (general + supporters that could be pilots from same team)
-
Pilots Team 1 (Squadron Leader + Pilots )
-
General of Team 2 (general + supporters that could be pilots from same team)
-
Pilots Team 2 (Squadron Leader + Pilots )
… -
General of Team N (general + supporters that could be pilots from same team)
-
Pilots Team N (Squadron Leader + Pilots )
Accountability:
- Campaign Designer --> Design the campaign with all the details for all teams
- Generals for each Team --> is responsible to design the missions and ground forces movement
- Pilots --> responsibile to fly
Campaign Designer give access to the campaign to each General in a way that each General build their startegy with Wave approach --> for example 35 missions for each Team with a specific campaign timeframe window (ex. 3 hrs from 7 AM to 10 AM.). Important! Each General can see just their part…(!)
After receiving from each General the contribution, Campaign Designer operate the “merge” and put online the Campaign allowing each team to act the first Wave of missions.
When first wave finished, 2° wave will starts with same order (2° wave 35 missions, timeframe 10 AM - 13 AM) and Design will open the Campaign to the team again and so on till one of the team achieve objectives or Campaign limits will be founded.
Regarding the Ground forces, for each wave and so timeframe, General for each team can manage ground forces missions/scope.
What do you think about this approach? Could it works?
A big hug,
Gundam

@gundam
=> basically you are referring to something like the official TvT event
Last round “4” finished some months ago.
Next round should start with the release of bms 4.36 (with new features and gameplay improvements)https://forum.falcon-bms.com/category/51/tvt-official-bms

Hi Bad Boy,
Thanks, for the Links wonderful!!. For sure i will join next TvT event even to better understanda how Campaign management works
I would like to know how to filter visibility as described to be able to do typical scenario from my own… In my opinion is this scenarios that differenciate BMS from anyone other simulator.

To be more specific, maybe could be enough to make a configuration in the BMS view where there is COMMIT button for the campaign in which on the Map appears just the squadron owned by the team choosed. Just a thinking…
With this the others part could be just matter of human management and governance.

It would be great that in far future (?) to have such campaigns where the position of SAMs and squadrons are partially (?) randomized. To have different OOB is 0 hour. Also the intel about the locations of assets should be limited.
The fog of war what is a bit missing on strategic level. -
@gundam I think your heavily overcomplicating. Just provide a host with the campaing stopped to both sides. both sides can go in and do their planning even at the same time. If you really want to restrict them to be able to look into the other side you could remove the save button in order to avoid client save. In terms of ground units managemt as soon as the campaing start the campaign engine will kick in an do its stuff so there will be always the need to rework on those orders while campaign is running.
Doing as you think by handing around cam file and merging together would be technically possible as the cam file structure is know but developing a real merge tool would take quite some effort and doing so by hand with MC would either

@oakdesign Hi. Thanks for your hints.
Ok the assumption is that red part do not select blue squadron, even for a mistake i mean. Doing so he will open “blue” map and see the blue forces…
A “protection” in the squadron selection was to avoid “intelligence actions” did for mistake or maybe to watch other side intentionally.
