Can you save them in dxt1 without alpha channel and with mipmaps?

In general they look very impressive… there are some points that could need some more love.
Unfortunately I didn’t had the opportunity to test them in 3D I just looked at the dds files.

I have also my 8k cockpit installed and together the game uses 1gig of RAM and 4gig of VRAM. The picture shows 6.6 but 2.5 is used by default by windows.

No, Windows doesn’t use 2.5GB. Don’t believe task manager. If you want to check real utilization and VRAM usage then run nvidia-smi command, you’ll see when idle the GPU uses ~500-700MB.

I am going to make some tests, even in different theaters (I’m thinking of Balkans, Nevada, MidEast128, Aegean… we will see), also following that useful I-Hawk’s hint.
I think that it will be the case of putting all of them in the Object/HiRes folder, as first, to take any possible advantage of them.
After completed that - it will take some days though, I am afraid - I will let you all know more about.With best compliments and regards.

@vattila11 I have installed them in that HiRes Object folder of KTO, Balkans, Aegean, Nevada and MidEast128 theaters.
In conclusion: even agreeding a little with Arty’s notes, I noticed an encouraging overall improvements.
They will be only become even better, in case you would decide to enhance them in some way further.With best compliments anyway, and regards.

All old airbases runways and taxi. I saved all files with mipmap and they are pretty good now.

@jackal Thank you! So far that is what I have. If you have more images to remaster, please tell me! Perhaps later these images could be placed into the main game install files together with my HD cockpit images for the following updates, to make them default.

As our great @Arty - the real expert here - already told you, it will be necessary, I guess, to give a closer look to your crafts, as first, just to understand what kind of choices you made when doing them.After having done that… we will see, and I could report my impressions.
Almost needless to say that… it would be necessary to get the previous devs’ permission, if any theater’s tiles are involved, but you already knew it, I’m sure.With best compliments again and regards.

@aragorn I havent’t run them but looking at the textures they are far superior than mine.
The only “thing” is the details that need some love cause I believe they will be obvious once in pit.
Back than I was with 8GB of ram and I couldn’t even imagine working on more details. I had made a try but it was a killer to wait on production app. I only did that in the tire marks and some stains - oil marks. -

I have just finished to make a comparison test of the two sets both.I felt embarassed at the end… but my own personal conclusion (based on my personal taste, I want to be absolutely clear on that) was that they are good both.
No wonder of that.Those by Arty are the most refined still (I have to recall that they have been since the 4.32 good times, an awesome result also at our present days then!).
Those by vattila had the not so strange appeal, for me, of being worn, so they gave the impression of how they may are in reality, to my eye.Conclusively, my warm compliments to you both, and best regards to all, my dearest friends.
@Aragorn no shots, I’am afraid… they were so many to be caught, and there were soo many particulars to be highlighted. Sorry!

@jackal Thank you for the comparison! After all the whole reason behind this modding is to make the game visually nice. Nobody has to pick a side, I do not mind if somebody combine mine textures with others. I would be more than happy to cooperate with others to create an even larger texture remaster pack.
