Solved Microstick in BMS
-
I’m trying to get the Microstick to work in BMS. How do I do that? I have USB Rudder Panels so the microstick is on axis 7&8. However in BMS nothing happens when I move the microstick nor is it visible in the controler setup.
Can someone help me with the setup? Like a 101 for retards?
Thanks in advance. -
OMG - I told you I need an instruction for retards. I forgot to hit the apply button in the Cougar control Panel after ticking the box . And i thought I the Joystick X&Y would be the one for the Microstick.
Sorry for the confusion!!! After actually applying the changes in the Cougar control panel, the microstick now works via the TM Toebrakes as you discribed.
Thanks you so much for you help! -

A couple of years ago, this topic came up with the X-55 Rhino.
To convert the ministick into DX axis, it was necessary to ad one or two lines to the Windows registry.
Maybe this link might be helpful.
Could help you with the cougar as well. -
@sphynx I have pm’d you a link for instructions and pictures

You should NOT need to edit the windows registry. Try this instead:Please see this (old) forum post on your problem, and ensure to tick “apply enable/disable Windows axes states” in the CCP axis setup tab - it’s just above the “table” of HOTAS Axes.
Then in BMS, Setup/Controllers select “Advanced” button, select “Avionics Control” tab and, using the dropdowns for “Cursor X” and “Cursor Y”, select “Toe brake left (Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar (0)” for Cursor X, and “Toe brake right (Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar (0)” for Cursor Y.
Then click the box for “Reverse” for Cursor Y only! You should now be able to move the microstick (assuming your hardware is working) and see the blue axes deflect under Cursor X and Cursor Y on that page.
Save your controller setup and go test it in game.
Hope this helps.

hey Thanks for the input!
ticking the boxed helped. I do have the Toebrakes TM Cougar Now in the setup.
However - the are stuck on the pitch an roll axis and I can unselected them and switch to keyboard there.
Any idea why?edit its not the Toebrakes its actually Joystick X and Joystick Y - but as i said, it’s stuck in the Pitch and Roll Axis

I am confused by what you are telling me.
Pitch is supposed to be mapped to Joystick Y, and roll is supposed to be mapped to Joystick X. If that is the case, then those are properly mapped. Select the tab at the top that says “Avionics Control” (in green in my picture above). That is where you will find Cursor X and Cursor Y (as seen in my picture above).
If you cannot select Toe Brakes left/right for either of those, that means that Toebrakes left/right are assigned to some other axis. For instance, what Cougar controller is assigned to Range? It should be assigned to the Cougar Range knob. If not, assign it properly. Do the same for every axis you want to map to a Cougar control axis. Check each axis on each tab, to see if Toebrakes left and Toebrakes Right are assigned to any of them. If so, then select another controller to “free up” the Toe Brakes, then assign the Toe Brakes to Cursor X and Y as discussed above.
Check carefully - we will get this fixed.
