HOTAS via voice
-

Just wondering if anybody uses VA for HOTAS? I’ve only got 6 buttons spare on my stick. I’m thinking of swapping things like dogfight mode over to VA rather than using the keyboard.

I think there are a few solutions:
I recommend this, it is for Comms but allows you to add your own voice commands for other items (I have one to toggle the pilot body etc.)

AVCS4 Immersive Voice Control Radios for VoiceAttack

This one is a plugin (so I think you need the paid for VA - they both might, not sure). This one is set up to allow voice commands for virtual anything - e.g. a voice command to set up your radio/ILS/TACAN for a destination airport - like flying a Gen 6 plane ;)

Voice Attack plugin for falcon BMS

But that is only two this thread offers many - not all VA

Voice Control

@CriticalMass it’s only a tenner so definitely a more budget friendly option. I could just set up a custom script. Can’t be that tricky for one or two key presses.

@Razzamattaz Possibly another option for you.

https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/21078/foxvox-free-voice-control-software-for-bms?=1647705025651

@Razzamattaz

another thumbs-up for foxvox from me (previous voice attack user). It comes with an extensive library of commands and it’s purpose-built for BMS.

All the best,

Uwe

@Razzamattaz thumbs to Semler’s AVCS4. It allows for adding in your own commands as well. But, if you’re just looking for a few buttons or switches, then a custom build would suffice.

@hoover, sounds like that’ll be my go to then

@hoover, sounds like that’ll be my go to then

Damn, I lost another sale… <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f630.png?v=gcfd8gb1ch8” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–cold_sweat” />

j/k (my stuff is cc by-nc-sa) - I love voice controls no matter who makes them, have fun and enjoy the immersion!! FoxVox has a great system in development and it’s getting better all the time. TBH, my AVCS4 BMS profile for VoiceAttack is focused primarily on creating an immersive and natural speech voice control layer for the in-game radio menus from AWACS through TOWER as these are not otherwise realistically modeled in the cockpit, and while my Quick Command Creator can make simple keypress commands on the fly via voice command, it’s no competition for JanJan’s full control plugin for BMS and VoiceAttack, or FoxVox’s program, both offer full BMS control out of the box. If that’s what you are looking for, then FoxVox or JanJan’s plugin are the things to try.

If you do try my AVCS4 BMS, and wanna add some commands for Dogfight/MRM modes, it’s as easy as saying, ‘Create a new voice command’, then following the prompts to enter a ‘When I say’ command phrase, and then the keyboard key (or key combo) that should be pressed when this is recognized.
@SemlerPDX

Sorry SemlerPDX, I didn’t mean to diss your excellent package or anything along those lines, all I wanted to say is that voxfox is probably a lot easier to set up for a first time speech recognition user. I believe both products have their place in the BMS community, and as we all probably agree variety is the spice of life <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f638.png?v=gcfd8gb1ch8” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–smile_cat” />

All the best,

Uwe
