HMCS Alignment BMS 4.36 Recommendation
-
I had difficulty selecting Coarse Alignment in BMS 4.36 using the “-34” and training manuals because my Mode selections was something other the NAV
Suggest we include a comment, where appropriate, that Coarse Alignment requires the Mode selection to be NAV and the EGI selection should be “Align Normal” . In flight, the EGI selection should be “align in flight”. Without these additional instructions, attempting to align the HMCS on the ground and in flight fails. -

I will take a look.

@Micro_440th Just a question …why alignment in NAV only ? , already figured out …
But seems more like Mode-NOT dependent // Alignment should be possible any mode

@white_fang I’m pretty sure that the alignment was coded the way how the RL F-16 works.

I might be wrong…
but HMCS alignment and EGI alignment are two entirelly different pairs of shoes.
EGI alignment is for GPS navigation - once it is finished, you don’t want to touch it in flight anymore. -
@Amadeus75 That’s true. EGI <> HMCS . (only via onboard MMC/INS interface)
However, EGI alignment can be done anytime (maybe not type full) … just not in Falcon since we don’t have “REAL” GPS - that’s why IN FLT ALGN exist , and it kinda works in BMS/Falcon ever since … think precision is lower@Micro_440th No prob. Not arguable , just seemed more “logical” the other way - and I was talking about HMCS (not EGI)
…currently HMCS can only aligned in NAV mastermode … which seemed too ‘restrictive?’Live long and prosper
