Enabling Profile Helios Profile from BMS 4.35 into 4.36
-
Hello folks,
Since the new upgrade of BMS 4.36, my Helios profile, no longer works.I upgraded to the latest Helios version
Changed the Interface to 4.36
and got the message about Re-enabling the RTT Client.
In my Configurator, the place to Re-enable RTT is nowhere to be found.
I watched a video on how to enable RTT in Helios and the screen to do that simply is not there on my configurator.
Will I have to start all over and make a new profile, or is the a menu somewhere, that I am missing?
Thanks,
-
@Lurch16 What Helios profile are you using? I’ve used -Ice’s 4.35 profile in 4.36 before linknet published a 4.36 version.

@Lurch16 Since you were able to change the interface from 4.35 to 4.36 that means you have the Falcon Interface in your profile already. I assume you repointed to your key file?
The RTT Section in the Falcon Interface may be collapsed and you may need to expand it. If the RTT Interface is not there then you possibly install a version of Helios prior to the RTT feature. What version of Helios are you using? It’s also possible that Windows has prevented you from loading the HeliosFalcon.dll file. Navigate to your Helios install directory and then into the Plugins directory. Right click on HeliosFalcon.dll and goto properties. If there is a button labeled ‘Unblock’ at the bottom of the properties window then that Means Windows blocked the dll for some reason. If this is the case then just click the unblock button and restart Helios.
If none of those things help you then possible a few screenshots and some more details maybe be needed as well as the Profile Editor log file, which can be found in the Docuents/Helios directory.

Thanks for replying guys.
I updated Helios to the Latest version although i’m not sure of the exact number at this moment. I started my own profile, but did it by copy/paste of items in Ices profile from a year ago.I’ll check out the things that you mentioned and get back.
Thanks -
@Lurch16 I just went by linknet’s instruction in his thread. A lot of new things in 4.36 too so might be time to update your profile to include the new stuff?

@Atlas Well It’s that time again, with a new version of BMS. I have forgotten what I had to do to point Helios to my 4.37 install instead of 4.36. I remember I couldn’t figure out the process when it was time to update from 4.35 to 4.36.
It was something very simple. I had to right or left click somewhere in the Helios configurator and just change the interface from 4.35 to 4.36. It was not listed in an easily visible menu anywhere. There should be a menu Item like “Update Interface” or something.
Anyway can somebody direct me on this? -
@Lurch16 Open your Helios profile and click the gear icon for Falcon Interface in the Interface Status tab
Then select the drop down to change the Falcon version
Then change the path to your key file for the new version.

Hin Todd,
As it turns out, my version doesn’t have a gear to click on in the upper right corner. Instead, there is a very inconspicuous “I I” bracket type thing. So I clicked on the bracket, changed the bms version to 4.37 and need to set the key file. I have been using BMS Full .Key with my CH equipment. Is that correct or is the Auto key file needed?
Thanks

@Lurch16 You can use whatever key file you want but just know the Helios profile has bindings to specific callbacks and if those are not present in the key file you want to use then that functionality within the profile will not work for obvious reasons.
Quick Tip: If you want to use a different key file, say because of an upgrade of BMS then change it the way you described but then click back to the Interface Status page. The Falcon Interface will review the callbacks bound in the profile to the ones within the key file. If there are ones missing from the key file then you will get a warning of missing callbacks. At this point if you have missing callbacks in the key file you can review the ones it says are missing and add then manually “outside of Helios of course”.
