CTD when loading into any mode - Tried with a custom TE aswell, same issue. Dump file attached here
The fixes from the pinned post are applied, Running 4.36. Issue occurs with any theatre including default.

@SammySkycrafts Can you upload the crash.txt file? From your
\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Logs
directory.And zip the dmp … it will reduce about 10x in size.
-
@airtex2019 Sure - here it is. Also zipping the dmp completely crossed my mind…
-
@SammySkycrafts Looks like still same crash you reported here
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/22730/falcon-bms-has-stopped-working-message-on-4-36I haven’t seen anyone else run into this…
Tell me about your system specs… looks like 8Gb ram? What video card / gpu.
Folks have had a hard time getting 4.36 to start on systems with 8Gb ram. Especially on laptops with limited/no video-ram.
-
@airtex2019 Im running on a 2011 imac (Via bootcamp), running Windows 8.1. Its an AMD6700m Series GPU which yes - Isnt up to todays standards. It has 512mb of vram, which im aware is rather low. Once BMS Does launch it runs smoothly which is why im not rushing to upgrade any hardware.
-
@SammySkycrafts I have zero experience with mac and bootcamp… but on my 8 Gb lapto, only way I can launch into 3d, on 4.36, is to ensure pagefile is large enough to back all of physical ram.
Try setting it to a fixed size, equal to system ram (initial size: 8192, max size: 8192).
Start / Run / “sysdm.cpl” =>
-
@airtex2019 Gave that a try and restarted, still the same issue.
-
@SammySkycrafts Sorry that was my best idea. Is it possible to get a ram upgrade, for iMac?
-
@airtex2019 It is possible. This model was one of the last easily upgradable model of iMac - But I do not suspect it is related to RAM.
-
UPDATE: Tried a fresh install of BMS and still facing the same issue.
-
@SammySkycrafts all I know is, if I try launching 4.36 on a virtual machine (software rendering - no video ram) it won’t start with 8 Gb of ram provisioned for the virt… but it does, with 16 Gb.
(iirc 4.35.x would run ok on a 8 Gb virt, but 4.36 seems to require more. probably 10 or 12 Gb would be enough, not sure exactly where the cutoff lies)
But on my 8 Gb systems, it dies on the texture-loading screen, same as yours.
My old laptop has 2 Gb of video ram… on Win10, with 8 Gb, I can get 4.36 to launch – but just barely – turning down most/all of the graphics settings. and even then it seems to need a large/fixed initial pagefile.
-
@SammySkycrafts can you do Start / Run / “DxDiag.exe” and tell me what your system reports, for Total / Dedicated / Shared video memory?
-
@airtex2019 Its only reporting Approx total memory of 4339 MB. There is no Dedicated memorey or shared memory. - There is nothing reported in Drivers which is making me suspect there may be a driver issue.
-
UPDATE 2: After a driver update it seems to be much more stable and so far no CTD’s. (Ive probably now jinxed it though)
-
@SammySkycrafts Hooray! that was easy
