Hi,
this looks very nice to me and I will give it a try. But first I need an answer to my thoughts.
As far I understood it, shoot is using the ms-speech-engine. But ms-speech got different languages to choose and by default this setting is bonded to the desktop language of the running OS (such as in my case win7 Ultimate / DE (german))
Does anyone of you have experience with an different language-setting than english, in conjunction with the speech recognition of shoot, or do i have to select an english language in ms-speech to bring it to good work in case of filtering the accent correctly. -

I can’t tell for sure because my W7 is an english version, so my default language for MS SR was english.
What you will need though is the profile for the german keyboard, since “y” and “z” are switched from the original qwerty keyboard. Otherwise tanker commands won’t work.
Hope it helps

Thanks a lot for your reply jcenzano. I will test it that way.

Since the link is broken can anybody please upload the 1.6.4 shoot profile here? thanks.
-
Links repaired. They should work now…

For me it will not load into Shoot OR the shoot editor. Error messege in shoot is “error at line 6945, position 4 while reading……” “The element ‘command’ has invalid child element ‘command’ Expected ‘key sequence press release’.”
Starting with deleting sections from line 6945 onwards but no change (except error start line number) until ALL deleted down to the final end statements and then it loaded.
File is now just 243kb though. The editor gives the error “Index was outside the bounds of the array” but now loads the much trimmed file ok.
Any ideas ? Thanks

What version of shoot are you using?
Have u tried top load any other profile?
I will check again with the uploaded files rio make sure files are not corrupt. -
version 1.64 and I tried both download locations but file is the same. Loading other shoot profiles with no problem. Thanks for checking out

I’m having the same issue. I’m using 1.6.4. Other profiles work.

I have a profile iirc in my hot list.
-
Well at least that problem got me looking at creating my own profile and actually now I do not think that I would ever want such a large and extensive one.
I started with the intention of just automating ramp start (about 20 seconds now if not counting any alignment delay) but have added other commands as and when there usefulness occurred to me in flight. Highly useful yet still only 8k at the moment.
Why automate ramp start ? I can do it manually in my sleep so not missing out on ‘practice’ when inevitably those I fly with wish to start the mission with it. -
What headset/microphone are you guys using? I tried my bluetooth Plantronics M1100 and 510IC and they both seem to be horrible with speech recognition. The Windows 7 speech recognition software barely picks up audio input from either one. Both of them work great with Skype but it’s unusable when it comes to this.

Hope it works now.
EDIT: I don not hope, I KNOW it works now!!!

But if you play mainly offline, a profile with a lot of sentences will be more flexible because there are many many more sentences. I particularly like I when make an specific profile for a given callsign, i.e. Falcon 11, and the I can simulate the complete radio call i.e. “tower, falcon 11 on base, gear down and locked. full stop” or “magic, falcon 11, request picture”.
To solve the online problem I found another program called keyspeech in which you can adjust the “accuracy” of the voice recognition. if you set it to 100% the progam will be very picky and what you say must be exactly pronounced as the commnad sentence is written. No room for mistakes, foreing accents or stuff like that. Thus, if you set the accuracy to a high value the number of false positives is reduced significantly, but for non native speakers it can get sometimes tricky. But for me, it works better in W7 than shoot.
Only downside of the program is that so far it does not have a PPT key, and it is listening constantly to the mic. But I have contacted the devs and they have ansewered me that they may incorporate a ptt on their next release.
I am in the proccess of translating the shoot profile to keyspeech, but it is a long and boring task that I will try to finish during my vacations when I don’t have access to my gaming computer. I will post it when it is ready.

I have a crappy 6,5€ headset hyunday…lol and it works just super.Hi arty,
I have no problem getting recognized, it is the other way around. Neither SHOOT nor VAC have an acuracy filter and my problem is that I get too many false positives when I am saying a normal sentence that is not intended to trigger a command.
When I want to issu a command, almost everytime I get the sentence recognized ok. So VR training is not a problem so far.
But whe you are using a software like KEYSPEECH with an accuracy filter, I agree with you that it is imprtant to train windows VRS so it can easily discriminates “normal talking” from commands.
Thanks for the tip anyway…
And don’t be tight and get a good headset!!! :D:D
