Need help with my plunge into Helios
-
After finally looking at @oakdesign detailed video, and other stuff and having connection issues with Kungfoo’s MFD extractor, (might be my connection issues!), I decided to have a go and made fine progress with a profile that works for me and give me what I need.
However, I’m running into an intermittent issue, where having set everything up, pressing the buttons will not generate input to BMS using borderless mode. The screen updates correctly at all times. I only find out when I start ramping, which is way too late for rebooting/restarting to fix it.
I added a button to generate a keystroke, so I can test in advance in notepad, but this clicking this only focuses the mouse on the tablet screen and will not ‘write’ the keystroke into notepad
Note I’m using SPACEDESK to extend the tablet as a desktop screen.Any help with what could be happening here would be most welcome.

Hi @Fish44
have you tried running everything as “Administrator”?
-
@CriticalMass Made no difference.

@Fish44 Have my setup running 'consistently now (no need for admin mode) and absolutely delighted with the result. Button pressing issue definitely down to ‘connectivity’ and generally restarting helios sorts it, but only happens infrequently. This is the solution i’ve been seeking for years, and no additional cables.

@Fish44 My only suggestion is to buy a touchscreen monitor instead… more real estate means more cool stuff you can do with Helios. I’m using -Ice’s profile maintained by linknet and it is truly cool to be able to do everything without having to touch keyboard or mouse once you’re in 3D pit. Having charts and kneeboard info right there too helps out a lot especially for me that forgets frequency numbers all the time!

@Atlas Perfectly happy now. Actually, touch screen/s for me is too awkward, given my desk setup and the need to tear down the pit for productivity. Wireless numpad for ICP and button box work perfectly too. I can get back to productivity desktop in less than a minute. Also hedging on a physical pit, in favour of a VR future, which i believe is the future of simming.

@Fish44 I used to have something similar but having the HOTAS at that position is just not ergonomic and found myself to tire after a while. Have a custom pit now and might be going for a more Viper-centric pit next year.

@Atlas Best of luck with it. You have given me food for thought
