Campaign! Kusan airbase returning from a night mission Did a great landing, rolling along coming to the end of runway and plane explodes. upon further investigation and redoing the same mission and landing with night vision I
see bomb craters in middle of runway at each end.

Question! Why wouldn’t the tower vector aircraft to alternate airfield When I was flying falcon 6.0 I remember being vectored to the alternate

Yes, in Falcon 3. Falcon 4 does not have that capability yet. Meanwhile avoid a straight in approach, go for overhead /battle break, and check the rwy.

Do you land?

ATC is one thing but remember the ultimate god on board is the pilot, his life (and often other’s) is on the line

I’d rather think that making sure the runway is usable is paramount, whatever the ATC tells me.
so yes, check it before using it

I think I read sometimes in some real conflicts they used the taxiway to take-off and land if the runway was bombed. Just if it was long enough …
