Tower frequency.
-
Hello there chaps.
I set channel 15 in the data cartridge as the tower frequency, say for example Kunsan, and take off for some basic handling practice. Then, just for the fun of it, I decide to land at some other airfield 100 miles away. When I contact the tower to tell it I’m inbound, I hear that I’m outside 30 mile range. So, I’m still linked to Kunsan……My question…is it possible, while in flight, to change frequency to contact the tower of an alternate airfield?
Thank you.

Yes you can. If you know the tower freq for the alternate base, you can punch it in through the ICP.

Sure, if you know the frequency. For example, Kunsan Tower is UHF 292.300, while Seosan has 353.100, Choongwon has 230.150 and so on. An entire list can be found in the folder: Falcon BMS 4.32\Docs\Airport Approach & Navigation Charts (look for the file named “Korean Volume BMS 1002.pdf”)
To change the frequency in the cockpit, you need to click on COMM1 (for UHF) or COMM2 (for VHF) and either manually type in the frequency, use one of the presets you saved in the DTC before the flight. You can also manually adjust the preset frequency, and THEN change preset, but that’s a bit more advanced. I’m just putting it out there already, though I advise you not yet to bother with this too much.

Yep…!
Your install folder has a number of handy resources, including about a third of the manuals you might want that cover this topic (excluding technical orders sadly), as well as navigation aids that include which frequencies each tower listens on.
