Looking for wingman

@kampfalk Hey, I’m generally interested, but unfortunately don’t have enough time for campaings for the next 2 months.
If it’s an option, maybe I could check back later?
Regards!

@kampfalk I’m not sure why you are so averse to Discord.
There is a rapidly growing BMS community on various discords - sometimes running their own campaign servers. For the most part, they are pretty easy going too. You can pick up smaller flights; you don’t have to be tied to a big package - as long as you bring the plane back safely (there’s limited stock). Falcon Lounge (linked in the header ^^^) is a very popular starting point.
Anyway, good luck with your search.

@kampfalk By not using Discord you’re missing out on a whole world of friends to fly with.
Falcon Lounge, UOAF, Falcon Online just to name a few.

@CriticalMass Thank you for the well-meaning advice. I’m not looking for any communities, though, I’m just looking for one person.
(Regarding being adverse to Discord, I can go on for ages. If you’re interested, you can read their TOS, and see if you can find a copy of the previous one. They used to state explicitly that they sold all data, including private messages. Then one day they suddenly started saying “Nooo we definitely don’t sell your data promise!!”, and yet somehow the “TOS last updated” date wasn’t changed to indicate that they had just changed it. Doesn’t exactly inspire trust. Furthermore, they take a lot of steps to explicitly find out who you are and map you out as a person (and explicitly say so in their TOS). Then there’s this writeup, and while it covers a lot, it doesn’t cover everything. Even spying-giant Meta/Facebook aren’t this privacy hostile with WhatsApp, and that’s saying a lot.)
Okaaay, welcome to the interwebs…Oh!

@kampfalk You’re absolutely right and I’m with you all the way. A lot of people are ignorant of the possible pitfalls of using Discord (I don’t mean that as an insult or derogatory - they just don’t know, for whatever reason).
I’ll never trust Discord in particular - I used to use it once, but after the debacle regarding the malware on their server that they flat refused to acknowledge (despite knowing it was there and actually telling people who got warnings to just switch off their anti-malware progs) I can’t believe other people do actually trust them - it’s laughable, really.
Malwarebytes was the only AV that picked it up, so it was convenient for them to just pretend it wasn’t there and wasn’t an issue. In the end they did - and allowed their servers to be cleansed - but AFAIC just too late. I do use it now, because many flight sim 3rd party devs do - but on an old tablet that I use just for stuff I don’t trust and nothing else.
So let people scoff at you (as you obviously do - as I do, too) but he who laughs last laughs longest
btw I would be very much interested in flying with you - I’ll send you a pm.
