FalconBMS_Alternative_Launcher not activating VR
-
Hello guys!
CONGRATULATIONS about the great new VR feature, it is a new age!!
There seems to be some malfunction with this new FalconBMS_Alternative_Launcher, the VR button doesn’t work properly.
I have the button there visible, but it just doesn’t work. The only way to activate/deactivate VR is from the line in the Falcon BMS User.cfg file, pay attention, User, not the main cfg.
It is very strange because even if I delete the commands from User file and change the line in the main cfg file, again it still doesn’t work properly. At the end, I can use VR, but only by changing the line in User.cfg.
There are many times where I want to switch between the two options, when I want to stay in 2D UI for longer time without the VR device working. And then activate VR to get in the pit.By the way,
when with VR activated and in 2D for longer than 15’ (I think), the VR (HP Reverb G2) goes into sleep mode and BMS crashes. Is this crash normal? Thanks!

@Atsalis In Windows Settings > Mixed Reality > Headset Display, you probably have the sleep timeout set for 15 minutes. Just change it to a somewhat longer time.

@tanr Thanks, I had missed that setting.
Besides that, is it normal for BMS to crash when VR device sleeps?
-
@Atsalis Yes, when a usb device sleeps it will very likely crash a program depending on it. You can test by disconnecting the device as well.

@glide Perhaps that’s what generally may happens. But I 've never noticed such crash with any other usb device working with BMS, when I had to remove it for some reason. Anyway, just mentioning that. If VR works that way, it works that way. Thanks!
