With regards to Falcon BMS 4.37.0 - Callback Fix
-
Hi all,
Just saw the post regarding BMS 4.37.0 Callback Fix, and since I’m new to BMS, my question is, what am I supposed to do with these Callbacks, just copy and add them to a specific file in Falcon BMS? If so, where should I paste these Callbacks? Thank you very much for your time!

@Poppy reasonable question. kinda depends… have you invested any time in setting up key/button/axis mapping, with the new launcher, yet?
or are you using one of the stock key files… or a key file you brought forward from 4.36…

@airtex2019 As really I’m learning how to setup my Cougar now, since I’m new to BMS, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, playing with the configuration files, reinstalled 4.37 once now, trying to figure out how to keep the changes I make, etc. Used to fly AF before, but BMS is a completely different animal, with lots of setting up work, and I just spent a whole vacation week trying to setup my controllers with just moderate success, anyways, I saw the post, and I just didn’t know what should I do in this case, and I want to have the sim running properly, and didn’t know if these callbacks were needed somewhere in the sim file system to run properly, that’s why I’m asking for help.

@Poppy I think the easy answer to your question is “none of those are critical, just ignore them – click the appropriate switches in your virtual cockpit, when you need”.
Except the VR-related ones… those might be pretty necessary. Also the new 8-way-hat cursor slew commands, I hear are fairly high-priority if you are using an 8-way hat to slew the cursor.
So, ok, the real answer is, use Notepad.exe to open your key file (whether it’s “Poppy.key” or “BMS - Auto.key” managed by the new Launcher) … and paste those lines in somewhere, up top.

This will inform AL that these new command callbacks exist, and they should light up in the UI when you search for them.

@airtex2019 Thank you very much! That certainly clarify things a lot more, I really appreciate it! I’ll do as you say, and keep experimenting with the key files (I made a back up of all the original ones in a different folder just in case anything goes wrong). Thank you very much for your time!
