BMS 4.37 BMS-BasicDX X52.Key File error (HOTAS Shifted)
-
Falcon BMS 4.37/user/config/BMS-BasicDXX-52.key has an error in the HOTAS Shifted codes:
“recenterJoystick 5 8 -2 0 0x0 -1” should read “SimHotasPinkyShift 5 8 -2 0 0x0 -1” .This change would then match shifted assignment “SimHotasPinkyShift 261 8 -2 0 0x0 -1”.
This error only impacts key mapping if the old way rather than the new Alternative Launcher key mapping facility is used.
Using the new Alt Launcher and its KEYMapping facility with 4.37 is easier and more efficient. However, if you use the older Launch.exe and older way of HOTAS key mapping using the provided key files, the above change is necessary to maintain the X-52 HOTAS shifted assignments in 3D. -
@Tiger78 can you clarify? are you certain you didn’t change something? seems ok on my install
C:\Falcon BMS 4.37\User\Config>type *52.key | grep SimHotasPinkyShift BMS - BasicDX X-52.key SimHotasPinkyShift 5 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 SimHotasPinkyShift 261 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1

@airtex2019
Thanks…certainly possible, but did not intend to if I did. Had trouble initially with 4.37 because I did not understand it was ATL launcher or old launcher.exc. So I could have corrupted my BMS-BasicDX X52.key trying fix my HOTAS using the old process. Every thing is working great now. Will post a correction. Thanks again! -
@Tiger78 it’s easy to do. check the timestamps on all those stock BMS*.key files … should all be the same.
in a more perfect world, these wouldn’t be files in a folder named “User” … they would be installed elsewhere (or even resources baked into the main exe) where they couldn’t be easily/accidentally modified

Will do. I agree, but we sometimes learn more by mistakes…I certainly have this time. -
@Tiger78 Confirmed … mine is dated 1/17/2023…I did it!
