Small regression with the IDM ?
-
Has there been a change in IDM management in 4.37?
Yesterday, during a squadron flight, we noticed a small regression. Two packages had been put together, the last one with only one flight. The pilots of this flight changed their U6 frequency to the U6 frequency of the other package and changed their IDM number to 61, 62, 63.
The 3 planes of this flight “saw” each other correctly via the IDMs, but the planes of the other package did not see them and vice versa.
The fourth aircraft in this flight was an IA. Is it because of this one (which obviously did not change its frequency and IDM) that it did not work?

AI will not switch its IDM number if different from the one programmed initially…
So basically if 4 (AI) was 14 and became 64, it will not work because there is no way to reprogram the IDM on AI side…
Now, the other planes had what?
Because you can use only 5 to 8 on position and in theory you shouldalready have:
21
31
41
51There is no room for 61… So there is no way to have this work since the leaders need to have the new package in their DED configured…

Salut @MaxWaldorf
I don’t understand your restriction.
61,62,63,64
71,72,73,74
81,82,83,84
91,92,93,94are commonly used (were since there were no Falcon Online theaters left in 4.37) on Falcon Online on a Victor assigned to a camp so that everyone can have a view into the part of the theater they are interested in on friendly flights.
Obviously the flight that is in the 20 series must enter identities from the 10 to 90 series in the idm pads to see them and vice versa. And obviously it is not possible to enter more than 8, and a choice must be made. But there is no obligation to fill the first 4 slots with the IDMs of your own flight. At the squadron, when the COMAO includes several packages and we have a “human awacs”, we usually make our flights with a single U6 frequency with the families from 10 to 90 assigned to the different flights and until now it worked perfectly.
The question is whether it is “normal” that what used to work in 4.36 no longer works in 4.37. If nothing has changed on this point, then we will look on our side for what could have made that what always worked does not work anymore.
Is there anything that now prevents us from including aircrafts in the IDM loop that were not initially in the package?

Which makes me add, since it is in fact the same subject, the following observation, with the same question: has anything changed?
When there are more than 8 pilots, the IDM loop works with us in DMD.
When the Sweep or Sweeps (which are logically ahead of the rest of the package) come into contact with the opponent, our internal procedure is to pass the IDM loop on the internal Victor of the flight, then switch to CONT, in order to have a better SA in the AA fight.
No difficulty in 4.36, difficulties in 4.37: we do not see some pilots or most often the IDM loop is completely inoperative on the Victor.
No technical changes on that point (IDM loop) in the 4.37 compared to the 4.36 and 4.35 ?
What could be the reason that a change of frequency (from U6 to another U6, from U6 to a Victor) puts a difficulty for the IDM loop that we did not have before?

Please do a recording because I don’t think I understand…
Nothing was changed since 4.35 on that part…
Ps: if you are not all on the same Victor, it won’t work…
