AL keyfile overwritten?
-
Hi guys,
I set up my X55 in Alternative launher back in July 22’ but took a break since September.
I updated AL once or twice and also installed 4.37 U1.
Now, AL keymapping is empty. I even tried copying the XML files from the backup to both 37 & 36 but nothing changes in AL/UI.
No override checkbox is unticked ofc.Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Laker -
@eido1706 There isn’t a fully supported way to import or migrate old key files to new BMS versions.
With 4.37.1 (AL 2.3) you can at least “import” the keyboard bindings from an existing key file… but you may find you have to reconfigure all the axes and buttons, manually, in AL.
Even keeping 2 PCs in sync can be a little bit of a challenge…

@airtex2019
Thanks!
So I managed to recover my .36 keyfile by changing the files names (IDs) to the existing ones.
Can I do the same for .37 (compatibility wise) ?
If not, is there an easy way to look at my 36 keymappings (incl. shft) while configuring it in 37? -
@eido1706 there’s new stuff, for VR and also the new ECM jammer modes… a few other things, like 8-way directional cursor slewing
but notwithstanding all that, a key file from 4.36 should continue to work as is
